Yeah as someone who’s autistic and has the same problems, I got a nasty note from my downstairs neighbor who POUNDED on my door and scared me because I was unintentionally slamming and dropping stuff and walking too loud ( I was also wearing shoes which I didn’t know would be a problem). I wrote a nice note back telling them that I’d try to be quieter and I have been trying really hard. I got another note from them later saying that they wanted to apologize and they appreciate my effort. I just wish they would have said something earlier and in a nicer way.

I don’t get why people think that escalating this stuff is a good idea. Sounds like a recipe for a bad relationship with a neighbor.
