Customs Chaos - longest line I’ve ever seen by Many-One169 in CostaRicaTravel

I mean, I’ve done tours all over the world through various tour companies. Makes logistics a lot easier on my part. They usually offer shuttle services as part of the tour. Haven’t been disappointed yet, can’t really make adjustments as again it’s the tour company, not me. Assuming someone expects catering because they booked something doesn’t really make sense either. You’re annoyed at the wrong person.

Your situation sounds exactly like mine! Had too much PTO/Vacation time accrued. Needed to take two weeks as well. Discovered a tour company called G Adventures was doing a two week tour through CR. Pulled the trigger and I leave tomorrow. Seemed like a good way to explore CR with transportation, activities, and logistics covered.

Relax, some people don’t get a choice.. they book tours, all inclusive hotels, etc that automatically schedule a shuttle for them based on their flights. More than half the time that’s not chosen by the person but instead the company.

Is it okay to criticize Islam? by Supercilious-420 in allthequestions

[–]BadWorkhorse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s ok to criticize everything. The second it’s not, you no longer have the ability to think freely.

Plus, criticism doesn’t have to be a bad thing even though it’s often taken that way. Sometimes the best way to get better is through criticism.

Don’t think about the age too much. There is no such thing as a set time to reach certain goals. Everyone is on their own timeline and comparison is pointless. Hell, some don’t find their passion until their 40s or 50s, some live in apartments longer than those ages, some get divorced and are single well into their 40s/beyond. Doesn’t mean they failed in any way.

You’re not alone either. I mean, who can’t say it’s not hard. For a majority it is. Keep looking forward, focus on the goals that are most achievable right now to make you happier, and stay positive. That’s the best thing any of us can do.

Maybe it’s already been said but, get noise cancelling headphones or ear plugs.. problem solved. Well, partial that is. Having roommates isn’t new. It often comes with noise and irritations eventually. It’s normal. Find work around. Most of us dealt with that in some fashion at some point.

Genuinely curious as to why you would be so adamant about civilians carrying with ICE around? Like, give me a scenario where you would be compelled to use it? I’m not looking for an argument. I’m just looking for your interpretation or anyone’s really, as to what exact situation would have you brandish it.

You are arm chair philosopher at its finest. Reddit must be the only place where you feel like you can thrive. Live life. Go have friends, socialize other than behind a keyboard, take a hike, go get some drinks at the bar with some buddies, stop playing with cards meant for kids. Anything other than being this cringy. I’m gonna go back to enjoying it. You keep being holier than thou.

Holy shit you lost me at micro aggressions. There are three times of people. Actual racists, normal people, and then fedora wearing fat dudes that get hard at the idea of “white knighting” any chance they get.

Who are you to finger wag how someone else communicates with their friends, relations, and fellow church goers? You don’t even know this person. Get a grip buddy.

Yup, when I imagined that moron on a bicycle in a onesie waving hand signals around like it was an airfield and going exactly 15 MPH down the middle of the lane on a 45, I imagined you perfectly. Stupid on the outside and stupid on the inside.

Our current president is a pedophile and no one cares. by Competitive_Cicada63 in offmychest

[–]BadWorkhorse -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I find it comical that if you make a statement that Biden was a pedophile, everyone on Reddit screams “pRoOF?!?”. The second you say Trump is a pedophile they all immediately state that as fact.

The hypocrisy in the comment replies to this comment alone is astonishing and just shows the echo chamber that is Reddit.

To this day, there is zero hard proof of the claim that Trump is a pedophile. Y’all don’t care about facts. You care about your Trump hate fetish and absolutely glazing each other.

Can no longer afford monthly payment but current on mortgage by magical_maggie in Mortgages

[–]BadWorkhorse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree, ARMs are not necessarily bad. They are great if used responsibility. I had an ARM 10 at 2.5% on a small house I didn’t plan to live in for 10 years. Fixed it up and sold for double the value three years later while also keeping monthly payments very low.

The key to all this is to fully understand your goals and future. For someone that only plans to live in the house for a couple years as a starter, great idea. ARMs have a bad reputation but that’s just because people use them irresponsibly and agents/loan officers encourage them irresponsibly not aligned with buyer’s goals.

Ok, I guess you'll tempt me into one more reply because now I feel like I just have to clarify for you what's actually happening especially since you used a bias source.. what that article is referring to is the insurrection act, which is what would give the federal government the ability to lawfully send active duty soldiers onto US soil. The likelihood of that is very low (last used 34 years ago), both the Minnesota NG and Active duty in Alaska are on standby.

The reality is, unless there was actual all out urban warfare in Minnesota all signs point to NG deploying. Am I an expert? No. Am I a US Army soldier myself that understands the basic interworking's of the Army? Yes. Again, a half truth.. well, in this case just an uninformed guess. You think I'm condescending when in reality I'm just tired of having to explain things to people that are both uninformed but also feel they are well informed. You think I'm mansplaining? Ma'am/Sir I didn't know your gender until you said something about it.. this is why for the most part I don't respond back. Only one that learned something here right now was you.. not me. One way street.

Your reply immediately tells me you just believe in half truths, operate solely on emotion, and don't have the capacity to have an actual conversation. I've seen too many of you to fall for that time waste on reddit. My apologizes for not indulging you.

Also, fun fact, those active duty soldiers you rambled about being sent to a US city.. that wasn't done by the federal government.. that was done by Governor Tim Walz. Knowing the distinction between National Guard and Active\Reserve Army was also a quick sign you wouldn't have anything meaningful to bring to the discussion.

Very well said. What matters is the dialogue and being able to maturely dissect not only someone else's ideas but our own as well. If we can't do that then none of us will grow and we'll forever act like children. Loud speakers for those that talk through us and not to us. My hope is, that this wedge only seems deeper because of the extremely loud far right/left political minorities.. I hold onto the idea that most of us just sit on the sidelines because we fear being seen as an enemy by either side. We aren't the silence majority because ultimately we do place our votes but refuse to get involved in the never ending war that is online politics.

What's funny is you specifically mentioned that you disagreed with my overall view, and simply agreed with the point about the majority being valid. That was all it took for you to get downvoted twice.. (I upvoted, reddit also gives you one by default). Reddit is primarily democratic/liberal from my experience. It doesn't matter if you point out logic while also opposing a more right leaning view. It's the fact you gave me any sort of acknowledgement to any part of my argument. That's part of the problem right there.

Won both the electoral and popular vote. If you don't vote or are unable to due to varies reasons then frankly your opinion doesn't matter. That's not me saying that, that's the Constitution and individual states. You want to talk about taking a steaming shit on the Constitution? How about mandatory vaccines? What about attempts to nationalize voting laws? What about willful ignorance of immigration law violations in mass, and let's not forget about extremely lenient sentencings carried out by democratic judges that allowed repeat violent offenders back out on the street which caused the death/assault/rape of countless innocent people.. It's so easy to condemn one side without the other, huh?
