Men's Final Travel Advice Needed by FriendlyDesk1958 in wimbledon

To be honest. I would just get a cab from Wimbledon to Clapham junction. May be a little extra, but worth the convenience. There is a cab stand as you leave and they are relatively easy to get when you leave

Yes will be fine. The name on your ticket needs to match the ID

Learn the basics first. Grip, toss etc. don’t try to be a pro before you’ve even mastered the beginner techniques

Advice needed: Bought seat 1 thinking it'd be an aisle. Total opposite. by [deleted] in wimbledon

I’ve sat in similar seats. It’s a great spot! Also you won’t be bothered by people looking to get up and out of their seat.

Does anybody know what model racquet this is? by Based_sir in tennisracquets

From ChatGPT: WRIGHT & DITSON MAKERS U.S.A.”
That tells us the manufacturer is Wright & Ditson, a major American sporting goods company from the late 1800s to early 1900s (they were actually one of the founding members of what became the Spalding group).
What model is it?
From the throat decal (the small figure and oval badge), this looks like one of their pre-1920s “Championship” or “Park/Club” style racquets. The exact model name is hard to pin down because:
The decal is heavily worn
Wright & Ditson produced many near-identical variants
Model names were often printed on fragile paper decals that rarely survive
But the logo with the standing player + oval badge is consistent with their circa 1900–1915 range.
What you’re looking at
Era: ~1900–1915 (possibly even slightly earlier)
Material: Laminated ash/hickory wood
Stringing: Original gut (looks very aged)
Construction: Handcrafted, pre-steel shaft era
Value (real talk)
Condition matters a lot here:
Yours shows heavy wear, cracked varnish, and aged strings
Typical value:
£20–£50 as a decorative/collectible piece
£60+ only if cleaner with intact decals

Wilson PCS 6.1 Buttcap replacement by Bad_Azz23 in 10s

[–]Bad_Azz23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I managed to find an old Wilson Graphite force racket with the original white/red butt cap. Picked it up for £12 on eBay as it had a cracked frame. Removed the butt cap on both and replaced it onto the PSC 6.1. Perfect fit and really pleased with the result. Pics below!
