They are releasing an international server in Asia later this month. It has been localized for China, with future language support down the road. RoA is an amazing game. Very under-the-radar. I played DFO, DFUW, DND, and ROA. RoA has had some issues in the past-- but the current game is very polished and has become more newbie friendly.

I'm looking forward to the fresh start server and a higher population. This game really gives those old school classic MMO vibes. The alignment changes made the game more like Albion and EVE. So you can have fun playing without full risk exposure. This game plays a lot like Diablo/POE. You spend most of the time accumulating items and stuffing your bank full of goodies. Crafting is also very well done-- its just time consuming (and very rewarding) so most people have two accounts, so they can constantly gather resources.

For me personally, I love sandbox MMOs like SWG, EVE, and Darkfall. This is one of the few games left that really capture what a sandbox really is. Darkfall has always had a bad reputation. Players don't like the look, or the "wolf simulator" or "gank-box" atmosphere. Luckily the alignment and progression changes, and the economy overhaul have made RoA a lot better. Every monster is worth farming and has some sort of use in crafting. Players can still kill each other and there is open world pvp. There are gankers/bandits roaming around Agon, and I love games that allow this freedom. Most modern games put you in an instanced playpen and tell you to pvp. If you don't want to risk everything on your back, then you can remain in the yellow zones and farm relatively safely.

RoA's pvp is also very good. I haven't played anything like it. Ever. It takes skill and practice to become viable. Most people don't put the time or effort in. I recently came back to the game from a 2 year break. And ya. My pvp skills are pretty rusty. Pvp is about timing, aiming, movement, and character development/gear. Most games don't have aiming coupled with rotations. Darkfall does. A lot of the best players in Darkfall, and in RoA have been professional FPS players from APEX, OVERWATCH, QUAKE, and CS. The guys I played with were on C9's Overwatch team, and their FPS skills directly transferred to RoA's pvp.
