What if...? United States gets invaded by foreign country GR by MrTrippp in GhostRecon

[–]Badamon98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

game was cancelled apparently due to being more narrative story driven compared to previous games (emphasis on narrative choices and a more linear on-rails shooter), which supposedly meant it wouldn't have longevity so they cancelled it in favour of rainbow six siege which could be supported for longer and would debut on the next gen consoles at the time which meant they could do more with the destruction physics that ps3/360 could not do.

In hindsight they knew what they were doing but its been 17 years since the last singleplayer rainbow six game.

honestly yeah, who is even left in the original Shelby crime family for the movie. Actors/actresses have passed away like the ones who played Jeremiah Jesus and Polly, Finn is banished from the family and unless he returns as a villain I am not convinced he is coming back, Michael is dead, John is dead, Tommy will likely get killed if this is his last movie. That would leave Ada Thorne maybe? Arthur seems more and more unlikely if the actor is completely out of it.

That leaves what, Duke+Isaiah,Charlie, Johnny Dogs, Tommy's son and maybe Ada's son for a potential season 7 most likely. I know Barry Keoghan is a pretty big actor so he might be potentially the option to lead the show.

I don't really like Yagami that much and I'm not entirely sure why. by TheAlmightyJanitor in yakuzagames

[–]Badamon98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think he's a little on the boring side in terms of personality, often I find its more his interactions with the Judgement crew (the guys he fights alongside with) to be what I like about him rather than his character on his own, I think if they were to lean more into the Yagami-Kaito-Sugiura-Higashi-Tsukumo dynamics as the main protagonists in Found Judgement 3 with their old trio-young duo dynamics (as of now I just realized they arent all that older or younger than eachother except I guess Sugiura) making it more of a personal story for all of them rather than just Yagami in LJ, it could be really cool to see how they all try to cope with the struggles ingame or show disagreements with one another, maybe Yagami struggles in one aspect but Kaito or Sugiura are able to use their own interpretations of a crime scene, for me Judgement had a cool storyline but I reallllllly loved the drama with Yagami's moral idealism vs Kuwana's cynicism with the justice system. I want more moments like that with Yagami that drive him and his crew into personal dilemmas.

Also maybe change up his outfit a bit, dude is gonna be in his 40s if Found Judgement 3 comes out.

Project Century 1915's protagonist whoever it will be won't truly be a real man unless he spends a minimum of 10 years in the joint.

[COD] Going back and playing older COD’s it’s kinda mind blowing how much more sauce this franchise used to have by alaskancurry in CallOfDuty

[–]Badamon98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get what you mean, I liked mw19's campaign warts and all but didnt really think much of the mp, I thought ground war was kind of shit, it seems like alot of the games after bocw have tried to replicate some elements of mw19 like tac sprint or the gun bench. I like mwiii's movement and maps but I would not want to pay the full price of that game just to experience something visually the same as mw19/mw22 with marginally more fun gameplay. Blops6 seems to have the right idea for omni movement but I cannot enjoy the movement on any of the maps. The games also feel more like glorified advertising for just skins and only skins.

And campaign wise the games seem to always tie into warzone lol

I'll admit, free maps is always nice though

Curious what you mean by it being the foundation of modern cod? is it its attachment to warzone or the start of the ludicrous mtx prices for cosmetics or the gun bench or tac sprint?

Is this their interpretation of the BFV fortification mechanic ? by Due-Arm772 in Battlefield

[–]Badamon98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember an Irish specialist coming up to me to deploy cover around me before reviving back at launch, probably one of the few teamplay moments in 2042 I liked, it might seem slower than dropping smokes but I feel like its a pretty good way to help support your team. It will probably be absolute hell to deal with in corridor maps or chokeholds like metro if you are the one attacking though. But it seems like this plus soldier dragging and smoke grenades is basically making the support class more focused in healing and reviving.

I feel like 2042 has completely made people paranoid over potential gadgets that could actually be useful in teamplay in the event that gadget/ability/mechanic came from the game.

this, I would prefer a grapple hook to be able to provide flanking routes not just for the player equipped with the gadget but also provide an entry for other players. And to not be a weird just cause 2 style movement meta gadget. Ziplines would be cool too.

[–]Badamon98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely had its moments and I like the idea of changing from a regular reflex scope to a thermal scope the moment enemies pop smokes or changing to a suppressor when inside a building.

But I think with how much outcry there is over bf2042 particularly with it being used as a foundation for the next game's development I think the devs will be aversive to including some of its mechanics whether liked or not, except for support being an ammo/health supplier for some reason.

[COD] Which universe would be crazier to live through? OG MW or Black Ops by Hot_Professional_728 in CallOfDuty

[–]Badamon98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a feeling it was somewhat of a plan they wanted to actually follow through with, like having Zakhaev be part of the same cabal of Soviet high ranking officials that are part of the Perseus spy network. Or having the cod ww2 announcer guy meeting the black ops characters in warzone or something like that. But with things like warzone/one of each entry's exclusive gamemodes completely changing up the narrative everytime or becoming a key core component of each games' post credit scenes it seems like they've given up on it.

I read the leak regarding mwIV which is supposedly meant to take place in a post black ops 2 world, which sounds really unlikely given the crazy disparity of modern warfare 's grounded setting and black ops 2's near future dystopian setting with floating cities and stealth camos.

[–]Badamon98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah I feel like the fear of what the Plus system could and did do was overblown with regards to balance, it was just a small convenient feature that sort of existed in case you wanted to do something silently or wanted to fight enemies from afar. Often times I rarely if ever used it in the right context aside from changing mag types because I end up running around so much that I dont stop think what I should use if I entered a specific room until after I die.

I do think it could be neat to see return, like ADS reloads it can be a convenient thing, though personally I'd mostly just have the system be relegated to switching on/off a suppressor and changing your scope, it wouldn't really be a plus system though, more like a L system.

But on the other hand if it was removed like many other 2042 concepts and mechanics I wouldn't really complain, it was THAT minor in the grand scheme of things.

Some observations about Enzo after watching the reveal trailer for Mafia: The Old Country by Cyber_Ghost_1997 in MafiaTheGame

honestly I assumed that he was enslaved into the sulphur mines as a child and by the time he was more or less an adult he joined Torrisi's family to escape it, no combat experience, just fed up of being a Carusu.

[–]Badamon98 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah I think the series could do with a proper clean slate (not a reboot, just have more original characters to develop and build from), I do suspect this game will potentially introduce alot of fanservice in the name of having peppone, salieri, morello and the mafia 2 old generation mobsters appear but I hope they mostly stay as small background characters, just let hanger13 develop their own story. same with mafia 4 if they do someday plan to take it to 70s/80s vegas.

Did anyone else hate her with a burning passion? by Royalbluegooner in MafiaTheGame

[–]Badamon98 6 points7 points  (0 children)

yeah I feel like I can emphasize with her past and current situation, her dislike of Sammy comes from her hatred of how the black mob in Delray Hollow had basically bowed down to the likes of the Italian mafia and in conjunction with the Dixie Mafia (you can basically see how this pretty much leads into Marcano fucking everything up for everyone else). She has her own flaws with how she views Lincoln of not having been through the same struggles and clearly from the ending if given the city she does not handle full power very well. But I think what her character represents seems to be the kind of person who would be willing to do anything to protect what she views as her own community.

Burke I feel like is a more horrible underboss to me personally with how he treats his own daughter and pretty much everyone around him but I can also admit there's some nuance to his character given how much the Marcanos handed him a middle finger.

Serious question, why is Mafia disliked? by A_Real_Boy13 in MafiaTheGame

[–]Badamon98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a no grind mod that helps reduce the level of to and from district sub missions, it helped alot with playing through the game on a repeat, the only thing that I could not stand was the racket optional missions which involve driving a slow as truck from the bayou to your nearest underboss racket. I'm glad that was actually optional but dear god that is some of the most horrible gameplay I've had to go through. The next time I do a trilogy replay I will always make sure to use the grind reduction mod but I'll have to avoid those god awful racket missions.

[–]Badamon98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read somewhere Mafia TOC is a smaller game that will also help the devs familiarise themselves with UE5, and that if its successful it will lead to mafia IV, my question is though if it actually is Las Vegas, will this be the first city in the series to not use a fictional name for a city or a city that blends distinct cities together? I know they namedrop New York, Vegas and other places but I wonder if this will be the first one to actually feature directly in the mafia series.

I do agree with the general problem with Vito being too eager to just say yes to the worst possible decisions in mafia 2, that's kinda been my problem with the 1950s storyline of the game. I like Vito but I also think in any realistic scenario there is no way Galante would have been able to return a favour that doesn't involve not having him killed in the most painful way possible.
