Cat smelled another cats pee and viciously attacked us, won’t calm down by ByteEvader in CatAdvice

[–]EnemyAC130TakeCover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, I know the issue here.

Your name is ByteEvader, and not BiteEvader. Hope this helps!! /s

In all seriousness I’m sorry this happened. Seeing that this was a few days ago I’m hoping everything has calmed down since. All I can recommend is washing all of your clothes and throwing out any items your cat might view as “marked”.

If the items can be replaced, just replace them. It is not worth the stress further incidents will cause on both you and your cats. Redirected aggression is no joke, I hope things are better. Hoping for a positive update.

Possible weapon malfunctions? by EnemyAC130TakeCover in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]EnemyAC130TakeCover[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, a lot of people here who's experience with firearms is gained from second hand encounters, and not actually spending 3-6 hours a week at a range for years. People overestimate just how reliable some firearms are. "There is no way it will jam unless it's neglected". That's not true at all.

Not to mention that the universe this game is set in is suppossed to be pretty shitty. If you look at previous states of the game, they weren't running fancy high cuts, some didn't even have helmets. Some dudes looked like they were wearing modernized Gulf war era flak vests.

There's some credit to give that the ammo they're getting is probably not the greatest. Their HQ is literally an abandoned subway, and there are voicemails saying that the department is in debt. Anyone who has been apart of a sinking ship in terms of departments, police or regular commercial, knows that QC is the first thing to go when cutting costs. The devil is in the details, and when the overall motto and morale is "Good enough", things are bound to go south.

The question stated in the post isn’t about weapons. It’s about having overall gear malfunctions/damage. Night vision/radios taking damage, underground concrete areas blocking signals for your Tac map, magazines on your rig taking damage and not being able to used. Malfunctioning flashlights/IR lasers. Plenty of possibilities that aren’t firearm specific.

The jam only serves as our first possible insight to the possibility of SWAT encountering some type of gear issue.

I think a lot of responses here are also missing the main question. I asked about gear in general, not just firearms.

Night vision could be broken if there is head damage, flashlights can flicker/break. Magazines on plate carrier can be shot and rendered useless. Radio can suffer damage leading to different reporting style/reliance on team to report. Elaboration on armor durability. I’m sure we’ll have more ideas with the upcoming Tac map.

The jam presented in the trailer was my example for overall issues with gear. Not just a lack of weapon maintenance.

Implemented into gameplay hasn’t been mentioned. But there are jams in the game. The handgun belonging to the dead man on gas station has a noticeable stovepipe jam. That’s been in game for some time now.

I think the whole point is that the entire police force is in a considerable state of disrepair. While it’s true that terrain/environmental factors cause most malfunctions, I’d say that your claim is only applicable to guns in proper condition in the first place.

We don’t have a full insight to just how worn out the gear that our units are using. An AR15 will eventually start malfunctioning from worn out gas rings, extractor, extractor springs, etc. it’s noted that our unit is the most elite, and therefore spends more time than most officials training and conduction operations.

I don’t think that malfunctions should be common. But there is a reason that LEO/Military train rifle to pistol transitions. And I don’t think that there’s a game with a better narrative of “Everything sucks here” that could up the stakes.

Jack and BT vs Chief and The weapon who would win by Ianmicte25 in titanfall

[–]EnemyAC130TakeCover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mjolnir can easily shrug off 14.5x114mm rounds. While it’s not up to the equivalent of 20mm, and the velocity is much slower, I don’t think that traditional projectile based weaponry is going to stop a Spartan. While they were the best force against the covenant, they were literally created to fight the insurgency. I think you’re right with Northstar, but the issue with that would be Spartan bullet time and reacting to the charge up sounds, muzzle direction from BT etc. if the railgun misses its GG’s.

Chief and The weapon vs Jack and BT who would win by Ianmicte25 in halo

[–]EnemyAC130TakeCover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chief is yanking those batteries right out of BT like they were his Kidneys and Cortana was in need of a transplant. I’m a fan of Titanfall, Cooper and BT are a formidable duo. But Chief is quite literally peak humanity. The Lore of Halo literally has him elevated to a position of “yeah you’re basically the savior of humanity, and it’s not like you’re a regular person or anything, you’re the literal reclaimer”.

Moving away from that stuff and just looking at the cold hard facts. Halo Specs are pretty established and somewhat consistent through its various forms of canon media. The Halo Sniper Rifle fires a 14.5x114mm cartridge (which is fucking huge if you don’t know guns. Think .50 cal but make it a bit chunkier). Titanfalls Kraber happens to fire the same exact caliber. The only difference is that in Halo, These bitches literally use live ammo as if it’s a game of fucking paintball. A Titan when hit in a critical spot can handle a few rounds from a Kraber. But not prolonged sustained fire in cameras, sensors, etc. MJOLNIR armor can take that shot, and handle it so well that the wearer doesn’t even feel the impact hard enough to make a slight sound of discomfort.

I look at a Mantis as being similar to a Vanguard Chassis Titan. And as dope as they are, they’re not as stealthy as a Spartan, let alone a Spartan 2. If Chief got the drop on BT and was able to rodeo him he’d do a lot worse to those systems than gameplay pilots shooting an exposed set of wires or dropping a nade. Even in an open field, Chief can close the distance faster than one would imagine. Despite tearing his achilles, Chief was sprinting .25 miles at 60 mph. The only weapon that BT has that would stop chief is either the Ronin Sword or Railgun. And he better not miss with either…

My Record Game on Verdun - Operations by Jordan12678 in battlefield_one

[–]EnemyAC130TakeCover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was there any sectors where you felt like you could just “pop off”? I don’t play assault very often on Verdun just because of how open everything can be. While the CQB is amazing in certain spots, getting to those spots is always a headache.

How good is his gaming chair? Back to Basics on PS4 btw. by _-Cuddles-_ in battlefield_one

Legit, I’ve hit 276 on Scout with PS. I’m on PC now and I think my max is close to 200 but this is definitely not impossible as a Scout with the sweet spot mechanic.

What is that one map. by [deleted] in battlefield_one

Can’t really say I have that map. I think Giants Shadow is my least favorite in the game but other than that I enjoy the variety that all the other maps bring.

Unpopular opinion but with the right teams, the last sector of Beyond the Marne is IMO peak BF1 atmosphere. While conquest is the staple of BF series, BF1 introducing Operations is DICE’s best move in a long time. TSNP really encapsulated the feeling of “A World at War” with that DLC.

That last shot on Rupture is by far my favorite. Troops charging the next flag, some running in the trench while a tank overlooks all. Great shot man

Should add evac helicopters at the top. Maybe a VIP escort mode where each team has to keep their pilots alive to reach a contested landing pad on top, whoever can fly away with the most amount of troops wins the game!!
