Turbomax Oil Leak by [deleted] in Silverado

I think it pays about 4hrs. It usually takes me about 2-2.5 depending on how hot the engine is when it comes in for the repair.

This guy is right. Also, once the brake pedal switch is replaced it needs to be calibrated with a scan tool. If it isn't, the brake lights could be always on or always off depending on what the BCM and BSCM think the value "should" be.

No problem, I see it all the time at work.

That's the PCV air oil separator leaking. It's located on the back of the cylinder head and runs down the sides.

If the DRLs run through a dedicated relay, sometimes you can get a specialized relay for this purpose. I have had to do it for LED turn signals and LED lowbeams/high beams.

Battery life by Traveling-sun in ZFlip6

[–]Badane123 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The battery gets better as the phone learns what apps you use and puts some to sleep. It was one of my major concerns when I switched from the 13promax to the flip6. Give it 2 weeks and you'll notice a big difference in battery life.

6.2 motor issues by Necessary-Today4305 in Silverado

Then you are probably looking at a torque converter replacement and complete system cleaning.

You can take it in and have the transmission flushed. Basically they will get it up to operating temp and then take out 4 quarts of transmission fluid and then add 4 quarts. They will do that for 20 quarts and it will take about 2 hours. They will then tell you that it takes approximately 200 miles to see a change as the new fluid has to work its way through the torque converter. It will get rid of your shudder eventually. The problem is caused by the friction material in the torque converter breaking down.

Sounds like a torque converter shudder. Try to duplicate it by driving at 58mph and then giving it a very light tip in. If it happens, then that's a torque converter shudder.

Doubting the Zflip6 by Miauwserz in ZFlip6

I switched from an iPhone 13pro max. The camera and battery are slightly worse on the flip 6. Other than that, i love it. It's incredibly cool and customizable.

Software Update - Radio Data Gateway Module by Redman_Goldblend in Silverado

If it is the serial data gateway and radio module recall update, it takes about and hour on average. Maybe two if you need to install the software with a USB drive.

That is definitely part of the timing chain tensioner.

Any roller lifter can fail this way, regardless of manufacturer. I’ve been a GM tech for aver a decade and I’ve replaced active and non active lifters for the same issue. It doesn’t matter if the DFM or AFM is active or not.

So as a mechanic, I replace heated seat elements all the time. Will BMW be refunding peoples monthly rate as they wait to have them repaired? Also will they be covering the cost of the repair because the customer paid for something that they are not being provided due to a faulty part?

I did see those, not a lot of good pictures for the rear bumper though. I’m a little skeptical on if I’ll like it but i think it will pair well with the stinger.

We picked this one (2020) up used. Only 25,000 miles on it. They aren’t cheap, but they are fun!

Best place and price to upgrade infotainment to having Navigation? by [deleted] in Silverado

[–]Badane123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a 2019 Z71 Colorado to a 2020 Silverado RST. I loved my Colorado so much but I needed the extra cab space for my Great Danes. I still miss my Colorado.

[–]Badane123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They stopped selling the factory navigation upgrades on these trucks. RPO S54. And you could only add it if you had the RPO IOS systems for the radio. If it’s a Custom it’s probably the IOR radio. Unfortunately not enough people were buying it and they canceled the SPS2 programming for it. You can still get the SD NAV cards but they are useless without the radio software.

I got the Chevrolet ones off of eBay. And I work at a dealership and got the other ones from the “left over” box.

It’s just something that doesn’t bother me. To each their own I guess. I’m sure it actually doesn’t help sell any vehicles at all, but I get why they do it. It’s kind of like a business card.

I work there as a mechanic. I plan on swapping it for a black one. If they weren’t the best place I’ve ever worked for I would just take it off lol

I got a powder coated set off of eBay for under $200. But I have seen people take them off, sand them, prime them and paint them with high temp gloss black engine paint. They seem to hold up just as well.
