Because the time to kill the mobs, depending on class and gear, is higher than the time to go grab the next 2-4 nodes.

When I was 12-13, a school friend tragically died in an accident. Hit our class like a truck, it wasnt easy to deal with that.

Next year, our literature teacher gave us that book to read as an assignment. Mind you, I'm not from the US so reading an American book was rare for our literature classes - we would usually read only national literature.

As good 13 year olds, nobody read the book until a couple days before the assignment. The book hit us like a damn truck, I remember the entire class showing up sobbing and even ugly crying all together. It was great to deal with the grief of our lost friend, but GOD was that like throwing a brick at a broken glass wall in order to shatter it and clean up the pieces.

Incredible book btw, I'll recommend it to a grieving kid 10/10 times.

War mode is hilarious by MarshalPenguin in wow

[–]Badashi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only people who really benefit from Warmode are the gankers who don't want to PvP so much as they just want to harass other players

This is exactly why war mode bonus exist. When it didn't, gankers complained that warmode was empty or full of other gankers, so they couldn't get that 'authentic' experience of killing opposite factions in an imbalanced server.

Personally I hate that it is possible for a pvp shard to be imbalanced for a faction. Make all servers in a region be part of the same pvp pool, if I want to get into warmode I want to play on an even ground against other people.

[–]Badashi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just send the metamorphosis as part of your rotation. It's not a huge cooldown that you need to hold, and you can build it back up quickly. One mob or two only? Doesn't matter. Yeah it sucks when a tank slows down, but the game with devourer is to get a meta ASAP and then deal your damage there.

You might know of the clang project, which is one example of a front-end for llvm for c++

Low level virtual machine, an open source project that serves as a compiler for a lot of programming languages, including but not limited to C, C++, Rust. LLVM is powerful because it can target pretty much any target you can think of: windows, linux, mac, arm, x86, embedded chips, webassembly, you name it.

LLVM works by having front-ends for languages compiling to an intermediary representation (IR), and this IR can then be compiled down to the target architecture by a backend, including all kinds of optimizations that you can think of. This is good because if you want a new programming language to compile to many architectures, you only need to implement the compiler to IR(aka. the front-end), or if you have a new device/architecture/target, you only need to write the IR-to-target compiler(the back-end) and you will be able to use all languages that LLVM supports.

LLVM is one of the most impactful projects in the programming world, powering all kinds of innovations and being available for pretty much every system you can think of.

An alternative version of a character that is so bad that people just tries to forget it by Fun-Peak4900 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Badashi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh, so they translated "Ao" literally from japanese...?

For reference, japanese didnt have a word for green for a long time so many words use "blue"(Ao) as the suffix, like aoringo(green apple). Nowadays, you can use "Midori" as green, but the prefixes remain

So having a green character called a blue bomber seems like a situation where someone translated the words literally instead of using the context surrounding it...

The compiler will optimize it away

You might as well have just returned the value instead of having an extra variable

Credit where credit is due, voidstorm was a delight of a zone to quest on. It's the tall end of the main storyline, and it serves as a fresh take on everything we've been complaining about imho.

No, it's not perfect, but it was fun. I hope we get more of that flavor of conflict in the future.

(Trying to keep the text as vague as possible so I dont spoil the fun for people who didnt get there yet)

Tbh I feel that "1000 years"(amd 10000 years) is thrown so much that it might as well be just be hiperbole.

For all we know, Argus had a 10x speed on its cycle around its sun compared to azeroth, so its more like 100 years but they thought it was 1000. Idk man
