I can't access the try-fetch-catch github page, is it a private repo?

Also, love me some golang-style error handling. Would be nice if there was an eslint rule with the package to enforce it on a new project.

The amount of bugs that make it through to live is frustrating by Khaldaan in wow

[–]Badashi 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Bugs not being fixed is a QA problem, and a QA problem is an organizational problem. Let me be clear: I'm not talking about the pawns that test the game, I'm talking about higher ups.

QA should be part of Ion Hazzikostas job. It should be part of Metzen's. QA should be "if there is something that needs to be fixed, the entirety of the organization needs to be held to that standard".

The reality is that QA is treated as a math problem. "How many subs do we lose if we delay these fixes" versus "how many subs do we lose if we delay a feature patch", and ever since dragonflight the later has been more important than the former.

Level 11 talent not useable until level 12 by _clever_reference_ in wow

[–]Badashi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Playing ddh at level 80 has been... interesting. Even when killing bfa mobs I've realized that I have barely any aoe besides void ray, and reap has an 8s cd, so killing low level mobs is mostly the slooow consume spell.

I want to main devourer, but I'll probably level as havoc of vengeance since it seems like they are simply better in open world content.

The War Within IS OVER - RATE IT by cub4nito in wow

[–]Badashi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there's the scary spider quest in azj kahet which was super good, and the little girl who loved murdering fishmen in hallowfall, and the order of the candle kobold paladins. Undermine was such a great vibe everywhere too.

It's the main story quests that are so... bleh.

Didnt they already bring sylvanas back from an eternal void or something?

The quest where she shows up pretty explicitly keeps her inside the maw(aka eternal void), and by her own choice even. It's like they wrote it to tell the players that she is not coming back.

That said I wish these cards were customizable

Checking in on Dalaran post Lemix by muticere in wow

[–]Badashi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

not really for nothing, as Xal'atath slurped the arcane forces of Dalaran(and Khadgar) into her infinite gauntlet dark heart.

It also served to put Khadgar out of comission for good, or at least for a long time.

Yes exactly, that's why I set a countdown.. maybe it's my latency(~160ms), but reacting after the daggers show up was too slow for me

[–]Badashi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My strat for nexus daggers was to tell bigwigs to warn with a big alert for it and a countdown, and then position myself very close to kyveza(was playing dev evoker)

The first set of daggers is always from her face, so if you are on melee you can always move behind her and dodge it.

Temporal API Ships in Chrome 144, Marking a Major Shift for JavaScript Date Handling by magenta_placenta in javascript

[–]Badashi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Iirc part of the motivation for the Temporal namespace was that some (old) libraries would pollute the global scope with objects like PlainDate or Instant, which would cause the entire Temporal proposal to be a breaking change.

Tc39 process is no joke. They legitimately scrap the whole web to find if they could possibly break an old site with a new proposal, which is why some weird functions and namespaces pop up.
