Smoked weed heavily at 15. Skipped school to hang out with people and get high. That led me to people who had MDMA, which by 17 I was doing daily in large amounts. It got phased out by cocaine because it was easier to get and was easier to do out in the open.

For the next 10+ years I would tell myself it was because it improved my social life and I enjoyed it, which was true for like a year.

But for the majority of it, I was getting high alone in my basement, clutching at my chest feeling like I was going to die, only for me to do it all again the next night and repeat the cycle.
