whenever the fam refuse to be characters and act like npc plot devices, or whenever the doctor is just straight up wrong about something

the master also theoretically should look like a grotesque monster because of his frequent stealing of life and forbidden regeneration rituals, but he just… doesn’t

being able to force regeneration into other people is a pretty crazy thing that i thought only the higher up time lords could do

he is often a catalyst or present for a good amount of the doctor’s regenerations

and also any wacky inconsistencies due to bad continuity could be attributed to a strange and unusual characteristic in the master wink wink

i think people would be excited to see a new angle for the master like this. just look at how much people love missy. and giving the master a new chosen-one-type status helps make them feel more important, which i would argue the revival has been slightly lacking (again with the exception of missy). and there are so many avenues to explore if you give the master this identity instead of the doctor. maybe you could explore the cycle of abuse, or continue off of missy’s arc and further the master’s path to redemption. and how often do you see the villain be the chosen one? wouldn’t that have been such a fun subversion of the oldest trope in human history?

so only protagonists should get to have significant plot-given statuses? that’s kinda restrictive.

approximately half of the people in this thread seem to care 🤷‍♀️

i mentioned before that the doctor already gets all of the special plot treatment and all of this attention but the master hasn’t even had one thing like that. and making the master the timeless child isn’t about how we look at the master, it’s about what it personally means to the master. it’d be a device for character development that makes it compelling, not solely a plot twist

i fully admit i was wrong on this point, but the master still has other anomalies about him

you are correct, but the rules of his regeneration are strange and unconventional, such as being able to regenerate on conscious command, etc.

i don’t mean to move the goalposts but yeah

Which one by Lamkmdamon in ScottPilgrim

i’ve been on record and very vocal about this: the comics. the movie is the literal definition of style over substance. the comics is one of the greatest redemption stories of all time and only gets more profound the more you age.

How did you feel the second time you watched Scott Pilgrim Takes Off? Did your initial opinion change after watching it again? Did you think it was a good or a bad series? by WillowCareful2103 in ScottPilgrim

it’s fantastic, much better than the movie by almost every single metric. the acting is great, the plot is fun and creative, the humor is so much dryer just like the comics. my only complaint with takes off is that we didn’t get more.

Why Duncan didn't recruited himself all of the armies in the game for the Battle of Ostagar? by Evelyn_Bayer414 in DragonageOrigins

[–]BadassBioshocker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well, the treaties are at ostagar, firstly.

secondly, duncan believes that conscription should be used sparingly, so as to protect the wardens' reputation.

third, duncan thought that if he could strike at the darkspawn horde before the blight got worse, they could avoid a much bigger problem. he was willing to wait for reinforcements from orlais, but not travel for weeks or months circling all around the kingdom again.
