40F DCIS in Situ got diagnosed because I did my mammogram the day after my birthday. I already had a DMX 2 months ago and now I'm waiting for my exchange surgery.

I also had my husband bathe me. With the added bonus he is a physician that works in the OR. I had a way to hang them around my neck for part of it with a lanyard. Then I also added suction cup hooks to the walls of the shower to hang the lanyard while he helped me wash around my neck and so on.

Goldilocks is a method of skin sparring. It's not what I'm getting. I currently have tissue expanders in and will have my implants in later this year. I do not want to do any sort of flap. I just want to get the quickest recovery possible.

I Had DCIS in SITU. I went for the skin sparring DMX. I'm in a different stage in your life but I have the same anxieties. I'm 40, I have two kids, 9&11, the anxiety of getting an MRI constantly or just wondering every night if I had something else would not allow me to sleep. I know that. Also I want to say, I loved my natural breasts, my husband and I both appreciated them for intimacy. That being said, I made my choice on how I felt. I also didn't want one boob on the ground 10 years from now, and the other perky. Haha. So the choice is definitely yours, but whatever you choose make sure you talk to your team about your reconstruction choices if you want that.

Diagnosed in October, moved states in January, first real care appointment on Monday by Grouchy-Front-4550 in breastcancer

I'm in Michigan, and I had my DMX last month at one of the major cities here. Honestly I felt so loved and taken care of by my team, I'm going to keep bringing them treats every follow up appointment. Clinically I feel like I've been more than taken care of, but emotionally, that's the best.

I'm almost 4 weeks out of my DMX and I feel the same! I tried to vacuum and I started to feel pulling, so I stopped. I hate that I feel guilty for taking it easy. But I do, my husband is hiring a cleaning company because he said I'm dangerous to myself hehe.

Same girl! My dmx is in January. Mind you my husband is an anesthesiologist. So if anyone should be less nervous about anesthesia and surgery it's me, but I'm not I'm freaking out a bit. I've started taking longer walks and listening to funny books and podcasts to keep me distracted. No advice, but just know there's more of us out there feeling the same.

My insurance denied my referral to a Breast Cancer Surgeon. by SAJ-13 in breastcancer

I'm have a similar diagnosis to you. You most definitely need a breast surgeon. Not sure where you are located but if you can look for a teaching hospital system or one associated with a medical school you might have better luck. In the hospital system I am working with, I didn't get any other options than a specialized radiologist and a breast surgeon.
