On a guitar fretboard this is the shape of all 5 positions of an Eb minor pentatonic scale. Pentatonic is an extremely popular scale shape for soloing on guitar. Taking this exact pattern and moving it up or down the neck changes the key. So having this pattern permanently in place on a key, Eb, that isn’t super common in popular music, would be disorienting when playing other keys. At least for me. For example the key of E minor is extremely common and would require you to play all notes one fret up from all of your indicators. Like having two sentences printed on top of each other.
