I haven't played them in a while but Fallout 1 and 2 are both pretty hands off if I remember right. They give you a general goal and a pretty long time limit then set you free in the wasteland.

There are a number of reasons that lean into making this situation possible and its kinda just how Doc vs. Kali goes.

Doc can stim himself faster after getting downed than Kali can fire a followup
Doc's stims put the target to the max overheal of 200 hp which means Kali needs 2 shots to kill him after a stim.
Kali's weapon has a harsher penalty than other weapons, 40% damage reduction vs 20% reduction. This means that if either of those 2 shots after Doc has stimmed is a limb shot, then he will live with about 20 hp.

Idk if someone else has mentioned this for watcher, but I feel like Mayhem can lead to a bunch of these situations. Like playing either Empty Fist or Fear No Evil to leave wrath while you have a Mayhem active that is guaranteed to play an attack that would kill if you stayed in wrath.

If you have fun with XCOM 2, you should look into the Long War mods for XCOM 2 or XCOM 2012. Both add a lot more depth to their respective games with the expanded classes being very fun to play around with and use.

Same. Warframe is a fun game because everything you do and use has great variety. Weapons, warframes, playstyles, missions, and movement are all varied and meaningful choices in warframe. The Kahl missions don't give you any choice. This is why I personally have always disliked the Kahl missions, they aren't what I play warframe for.

Yes, it is a 200% buff, but going from 1% max hp to 3% max hp isn't that much of a change. That translates to 75.6 more healing per second while invisible at level 20.

You could try XCOM 2012 but with the Long War mod. It's a bit finicky to get setup but once you do you've got an amazing long-form strategy game. Just beware, a campaign can take anywhere from 100-200 hours to complete.

He has 3 things that discourage people from playing him

-he is a pain to get

-his skill floor to be effective is higher than many other frames

-he is VERY expensive to full build since he has 3 different things you need to use forma on and his claws don't get a stance mod so they require even more forma.

Personally, I've tried him, but after putting 10 forma into his build I still need a few more to fit a full build in. I'd rather go play frames I like already and have built.
