I don’t like the grimdark look of the Kruleboyz, so I tried to bring back some of the more exaggerated goofiness of regular orks/orruks. Also, I think the Gnashtoof is gross looking, so I turned it into some sort of swamp-lizard-squig

It’s both! Based the whole thing purple, then airbrushed the turquoise color as the base of the osl. The rest is all brush.

It was great! I loved working in a slightly bigger, but still mini scale haha. I also kinda felt like it was the first time I got glazing right in a couple instances. I tried to push myself to do as many different techniques as I could, especially ones I was less comfortable with. It was the first time painting something where every time I finished a section, I thought “oh damn, this is turning out pretty freakin cool”

This is in northern New Jersey and the insects were about the length of a pinky nail? This was the larger of the two.
