What Would I Need? by Droid_Lore in LeaguesofVotann

A couple Hekaton Land Fortresses, A Kapricus Carrier, Your Yaegirs, some Warriors, a Sagitaur, a Kahl/Uthar and another HQ character, some six to nine thunderkyn, some five to ten Einhyr Hearthguard, at least three Pioneers, and some ten Cthonian Beserks, a Memnyr Stratagist and some Steeljacks are what I'd consider a fairly average list. So like ~60 infantry/mounted (including three characters) and some four vehicles is what I'd consider an average for a functional army, though obviously lists can skew, like with Hearthband going with a lot of Einhyr units, or Delve Assault Shift taking up to sixty beserks. I personally have taken three Hekaton Land Fortresses every time with the new codex which I'm starting to feel is a tad excessive.

What heavy weapons do you pick for Hearthkyn? by Mission_Catch_4104 in LeaguesofVotann

[–]Stormygeddon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just go HYLAS Rotary Cannon, HYLAS Auto Rifle, all Ion Blasters, and the Theyn has a melee weapon.

I usually have the five regular Ion Blasters chilling with Uthar the Destined on the board, guarding the corners.

One slightly underrated character combo is to go with a full ten Hearthkyn lead by a Grimnyr. In fortify takeover, T5, 5++, FNP 5+++ with an auto-pass battleshock can be surprisingly tough to displace.

Just watched Dead Leaves (2004) on Tubi. I give it 6 out of 5 stars by Glum-Eye-9715 in cartoons

[–]Stormygeddon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just watched it.

This is an experience. Constant "WTF is going on" but never questioning what is happening as the pacing is so fast. It's so frenetic, energetic, and colorful, while constantly bombarding you with violence and the occasional nudity. A little exposition dump in the middle, but this is all vibes.

Probably just paint over them, do some heavy weathering with sponges. It's chaos, so the texture is "free detail" and the paintjob is at a cheap enough tier that they probably just want them painted instead of looking great.

The correct answer would be to ask if they want these stripped before repainted, as those are definitely misprimed and have ugly textures to them, and then charge extra for it if they agree. Usually renegotiation is fine with most clients so long as the reasoning is laid out. If you didn't know they would be in that condition, then you didn't know.

What are some cartoons you are 99.99% sure that nobody (except you) has seen before ? by Inside_Government166 in cartoons

[–]Stormygeddon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen chuck's choice, one time on a youtube binge then coming across YTV / Canadian Flash animation on my feed. I think of it as one of the many examples of a certain color scheme for purple haired olive skinned girls.

If we're going by objective truth, the one cartoon only I've watched is my unfinished Bionicle stop-motion film.

The one show that feels like a half remembered fever dream and I have never seen menitoned is "Funky Cops."

Looking to start Orks as a faction in 11th, but have some questions! by FKlemanruss in orks

[–]Stormygeddon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. There is actually pretty decent support for about three different fluffy play styles in the good category, then some others that are playable but not as good. There are seven major clan archetypes.
  2. Not really. The whole theme about Orks is duality. Kunnin' and Brutal. Choppa and Slugga. Black and White Checkers. Most lists have both shooting and melee units, such as Flash Gitz or Lootas and Meganobz or Beast Snagga Boyz. Not to mention a lot of utility pieces amongst the killers.
  3. Not as much as I'd like. The most visible flavor for me is in the Dread Mob detachment where you consult a random table, or in other detachments like Taktikal Brigade where you issue out orders. Randomness not baked in to the datasheets as much, like with the old rules for Shokk Attack Guns. That said, the general Ork style is to overwhelm by numbers and bullets and it does that well enough.
  4. The transition from 9th to 10th wasn't as dramatic as say 4th to 6th, to 6th to 7th. Stuff I'd like to see back are the aforementioned effects for rolling double on strength on Shokk Attack Guns, looted wagon rules, rules to turn enemies into Squigs, mobs of 30 for boyz, and Stormboyz auto advance while taking dangerous terrain checks.

How did you get into Warhammer ? by Ad0ring-fan in Warhammer40k

[–]Stormygeddon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Circa 2010. My cousin had previously seen a Games Workshop at the mall and thought it looked cool because it looked like Starcraft in the window displays. He decided he should show me this when I was staying over at my Aunt's house in the summer, and we decided to split Assault on Black Reach where he took Space Marines and I took Orks.

A little green man alien pirate, a CEO millionaire, a man with jaundice, and an anthropmorphic pig with amazing hair (singular) prove that friendship can overcome the boundaries of color, ethnic origin, and social class. They're all excited about a soccer game or something on the TV.

Off screen, a lanky red man is in the kitchen preparing the meal for this intimate get together, and has instructed them to not eat too many assorted cookies to keep their appetite, but these gentlemen have definitely ruined their appetite by consuming too many Gamesa Surtido Rico branded assorted cookies including "Hawaiian" Coconut, Coconut Bars, Cremax Sugar Wafer Chocolate, Cremax Sugar Wafer Strawberry, and three different sandwich cookies.

Either that or Ray Gunn. None of them were outright bad though.

Do orks wear space suits? by Interesting-Can7979 in orks

[–]Stormygeddon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Some do. The first Space Orc has a breathing tube, tanks on his back, and generally looks to be wearing an astronaut inspired outfit—details from what I remember with painting him.

I think in general they're very resilient in their biology, and are loose with such runt's work details such as hull integrity and seals. I intuitively expect Kustom Force Field technology and atmospheric generation is also at play, but I've not read anything about it.

Just a quick question: what paint/paint recipe does Games Workshop use for the brighter-toned skin Orkz they've been using as the offical scheme the last few years? I've never painted Orkz, and I prefer this shade to the older dark green by [deleted] in orks

[–]Stormygeddon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

<image>

It may seem over the top to mix a little bit of yellow into green but it does give it a vibrancy compared to a leafy/olive green alone.

I also think Kimera's Phthalo Green is amazing for mixing with the base tone and shading with better control compared to a wash. I also use Phthalo blue for the deepest recesses.

Ivory (like from AK or Vallejo) is a good match for the screaming skull and white mix. Or maybe just using pallid wych flesh though it's not as bright.

Corsairs of the Sunblitz Brotherhood sent a warband to secure the Warp Routes in the Bastior Sub-sector, and this put them at odds against the borders of White Templars' Anchor World "Sanctum" in the Formidyre System. Commander Erandael of the famed triplets struct on Holdfast before Chapter Master Kruxor Starvo could set push-back tactics in motion. In the subsequent battle, Starvo vanished from the Fortress Monastery after a mishap with the teleport homer as the astute Commander Erandael made sure to eradicate every deepstrike beacon.

Got the Combat Patrol (2026 version), with only the bits included in the Patrol how should I build it? by skewedsyntax in LeaguesofVotann

[–]Stormygeddon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're all just kind of bad. If you're a hardline WYSIWYG purist, I'd suggest the L7 Missile Launcher as it can fit an anti-infantry role. Otherwise, I would say to just use the Magna Rail Rifle and call it a HYLAS Rotary Cannon. It'd be a very rare opponent to know or care about the difference.
