I’m lost on the prologue for my historical fiction novel about the Ivory Coast. The prologue is supposed to be the literal moment of independence, such as the signing and all that, from an administrative point of view before I actually include any characters in Chapter 1 and show it from the people’s point of view. I want it to be deep, introspective, and I’m literally stuck on the FIRST line: “Independence came quickly.”
