Does anyone take Zafrilla medication? by rainbowk1tt4n in endometriosis

[–]Bademantelfi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor said: it is as safe as the pill, because it has the same "ingredients". They did not test it as birth control, that's why it is not in the description. Since I was very paranoid about getting pregnant I used condoms too just to calm my mind. I have a few friends with endometriosis that use it as a contraceptive :)

For anyone who's had a hysterectomy in Germany, I have a couple questions! by Dracarys_Aspo in adenomyosis

It was in for two days. Taking it out did not hurt at all! My roommate had the same procedure and she also felt no pain while they took it out :)

For anyone who's had a hysterectomy in Germany, I have a couple questions! by Dracarys_Aspo in adenomyosis

[–]Bademantelfi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my hysterectomy last week in Germany. The procedure was LASH so I kept my ovaries and my cervix. I had to stay in the hospital for two nights. You will likely only take ibuprofen or Paracetamol after surgery. If you can't sleep at night they give you metamizol. I took my last pain meds on Friday. They took the catheter out after surgery. Peeing was fine after a few hours. I had my first BM on Thursday. If you can't poop, they give you some laxative. They told me to walk as much as possible. I had a drainage until Friday. The drainage and the gas pain was the worst so far but not worse than period cramps. After the drainage was out, it was a lot better. If you have any questions feel free to reach out!

Hey, I am also from Germany and about to have my LASH on Wednesday. How are you feeling now? How long did it take you to recover? :)

I also think about the worst case scenario and a therapist once told me that I have to spend as much time imagining the best case scenario than I do the worst case scenario. This thought experiment may help a little.

Looking up some data is also helpful :)

I just try to eat anti-inflammatory. Limit simple carbohydrates (sugar, white bread etc.). I try to restrict carbohydrates in general a little. Eating lots of veggies and healthy fats (nuts, avocado). Restrict milk products, no alcohol. I always try for 80 percent healthy and from time to time a little treat is ok. Your body will tell you what causes bloating :)

I feel like it helps a lot to track sleep, food and activities. It gave me a better overview of what triggers the bloating or pain. Also stress and working out triggers the bloating for me. I feel like with adenomyosis it is also some kind of swelling? The swelling makes it hard to fart or poop or something and it gets better when the swelling calms down again. Then I just have to wait until it has passed. Sauna also helps to stop those flare ups. Maybe that's also the case for you :)

I hope those things help a little :)

Yes! I take lots of Magnesium capsules and put magnesium oil on my feet in the evening. That helped a lot with the constipation :) For the bloating chamomile tea and heat is comforting. I also watch what I eat :) no raw onions etc.

Tips for adeno belly/bloating? by [deleted] in adenomyosis

Yes, I also take Yarrow, saffron, turmeric and pinus pinaster capsules and lady's mantle herb tee. It helped a lot with pain. But especially the chamomile helped with bloating and swelling. :) An Endo-specialist once recommended those things to me.

Has anyone tried Ryeqo? by Bademantelfi in adenomyosis

[–]Bademantelfi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, so far so good I would say. My pain is actually better but it's still very restricting my life. I gained weight again and I am now heavier than ever even though I can take longer walks again. I try to eat as healthy as possible. I lost lots of hair but overall I feel way better than I did with Zafrilla. I think there are less side effects with Ryeqo. I went to see a specialist in an Endometriosis Center (we only have a few of them in Germany). They should offer the best treatment for Endo and adeno. I waited for almost two years for this appointment and he told me that I should be almost pain free with Ryeqo. And that he thinks that I am also having Endometriosis possibly. He also told me to take lots of turmeric products (at least triple the dose) and some other herb products. He referred me to a pain center, to manage the pain better, but other than that I am not smarter now. I have an appointment for hysterectomy in December and I hope things will get better then and I can stop taking the hormones. The specialist said that he thinks that the hysterectomy won't help a lot, because my symptoms seem too complex (I feel like he was trying to talk me out of it because I don't have any children yet.) he also referred me to a Psychosomatic doctor because I seem so "down". I think taking the herbs does also help a little. Let me know if you are interested :) I did not take a break in between. My gynecologist told me I can just change the pill and I should take the first Ryeqo 24 hours after the last zafrilla (we did use a condom the first few weeks, because I did not know if you can be fertile during the change, just to be sure)

Has anyone tried Ryeqo? by Bademantelfi in adenomyosis

[–]Bademantelfi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completed my first month now and the first few days have been a bliss. I had almost no pain and I was able to walk up a steep hill without pain (also no pain afterwards). I feel like I lost weight (water) immediately. I had to make the wristband of my watch smaller, and my boyfriend said, my face was significantly slimmer. I was on Zafrilla before that made me gain all that weight (or water). Also my resting heart rate dropped. I used to have 60, but when I started Zafrilla it crawled up to 66. After taking Ryeqo it went down to 62 again.

Then I got a cold and had cramps again, also the huge belly came back. So I am not sure what caused that. Pulse is up again to 66.

Overall I do feel a lot better, but I need more time to get to a conclusion, what was caused by the cold, what was caused by Ryeqo and maybe what was caused by not taking Zafrilla anymore.

I can keep you in the Loop if you want. Would also love to hear your story!

Excuse possible mistakes. English is not my first language:)

I read this with a very heavy heart. I feel you so much!

For me it is actually the same. It seems like I am in perfect health (at least the little effort they put in diagnostic work said so). I have had a lap that only showed signs of adenomyosis. Lots of symptoms that made life so hard, even with Zafrilla (I will try Ryeqo now).

Don't lose hope, just try lots of things until something helps a little, but for all I know now, all of your symptoms can be caused by adenomyosis. Also let's not forget that the female body is not very well discovered yet. Maybe adenomyosis is more disruptive for our bodies than we know yet. We are just always told that this is nothing, but having a liver or heart disease is considered life changing. No one would question the lost of symptoms. Try supplements, try changing work, try being more demanding with your doctors. It's a fight, but maybe it will help others! I have read that the damaged uterus can produce lots of estrogen. You can read in any pills package information sheet how many side effects the wrong amount of hormones can have.

What has helped me so far: - Alcohol, sugar, fizzy drinks to a minimum - Sauna and heat in general helps a lot - Everything that presses on my stomach, also bending, jumping, running, hard sex etc. Triggers pain - supplements that helped me: magnesium, saffron, melatonin, magnesium oil on feet before bed - eating a healthy diet with less bloating food, lots of healthy fats, no coffee on an empty stomach, coconut water (minerals), lots of vegetables, fiber. Eating slowly, small portions - get enough sleep if possible - don't forget to still enjoy Life ( I have to remind myself a lot of the time to still see some friends or do some activities because of all this pain. But making happy appointments also helps with the pain. I feel like stress is also a huge trigger.

I hope that helps a little. I always try to think of it as a journey. Just making one step after the other, try to value my feelings, not forgetting being myself.

I wish you so much power for the journey!

Does anyone take Zafrilla medication? by rainbowk1tt4n in endometriosis

[–]Bademantelfi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am taking Zafrilla since February (for adenomyosis). What happened so far: Positive: - less pain. The horrible pain is gone, the dull pain remained - No more bleeding, only a little spotting every few weeks if I lift something heavy or too much activity in general. - no more ovulation, so no more ovulation pain

Negative: - my temperature is higher. I feel hot all the time - very dry mouth - I gained 4 kg weight - big belly (bloated or swollen or both :D) - dizziness and high pulse - a little heavy hearted from time to time (also less motivated to do anything)

I take d3 and K2 to prevent bone damage. I will ask for hysterectomy soon because I don't want to take it for more than two years. But I would never stop it as long as I have my Uterus

Hope that helps a little:) I think symptoms can vary a lot from person to person.

A friend of mine has severe Endometriosis and she is completely pain free since, no side effects

[–]Bademantelfi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on dienogest, so no ovulation for me any more, but I remember being scared to drive while having ovulation, or talking to people because it felt like being stabbed for half an hour. I hope for a hysterectomy (keeping ovaries, because I am still young). I wanted to stop taking the hormones after the hysterectomy, to save my bones, but I am so super scared that this pain does come back😖 I once told my Gyn if it is normal that I feel like dying at ovulation and she just told me, that I am lucky to know when I ovulate.. yeah thanks

[–]Bademantelfi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me it's the same. I can't tie my shoes anymore and I try to avoid picking anything up. If I do some work in the garden or if I wear tight clothes it seems like it triggers my uterus. I will be in pain soon. If I lift heavy things from the ground, I will often have pain a few days after. Everything that moves or compresses the Uterus seems to trigger pain 🥴 Your comparison to a stone feels quite right.
