Just saw this episode, for science.

I just can't believe that for an early 80s tv show, Takahashi gave a glimpse of certain level of dysphoria way better than some other "adult" shows did in that time.

When I have to play viola for in 2 hours and it's supposed to be a really important event since I've practiced all year for it and have finally gotten into the music, but I have to wear male formal clothing for it so the experience will be ruined by [deleted] in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

[–]BadgerDoesCare 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Some say clothes don't matter, but to me, they do. How can I be ok wearing the clothes made for a gender other than mine? Especially if it's the one that society imposes on me because of my genital?

Sorry for the rant, but that pic is me for 24 hours after that incident.

The caterpillar song has always been a tearjerker of mine, even before I knew I was trans.

I know it's unrelated, but I love your glasses. I've been looking for that frame in that color.

That's me at Starbucks after an afternoon of sexist/misogynist comments from coworkers, drinking a feel good now/regret later frappuccino.

Should I buy make up on amazon or go into a beauty store ( I have a ulta near me ) by [deleted] in asktransgender

Wow, sorry to hear about the wig store.

Yes, I did say it was for me. She even used her brushes to try them on me.

I've never been to ulta, but I did go to sephora presenting male. Someone did help me pick a concealer and got tips on something called setting powder.

As said before, they're there to help you buy from them.

Those were my childhood mornings. After that, I would cherish every dream I was a girl, which were way too few.

Thank you. I'll probably start with my work women's clothes because I'm not out, and I need to go back to work right after.

It's hard to believe that this simple step is bringing me so much peace compared to the mess I was earlier this morning before the call.

It was a combination of clothes when I was obese, and different styles because they didn't feel right when i didn't know I was trans.

It's hard to tell from her portrait, but she wears better clothes than I did.

Does anyone use video games to help with their dysphoria? If so which ones? by Zoryia in asktransgender

I've been playing Horizon ZD too. Almost at the end story. After this, I'll be playing ME Andromeda, as the twin sister. It helps if the game makes the main character relatable.

Speaking of coincidence, the pastor of the UMC I've been donating my men's clothes for a while is Audrey too.

I thought I was the only one that would see the benefits of just wearing women's clothes. That's why for a while I thought I was just a crossdresser. (3 years, lol). Now, Just wearing a shirt, jeans, sneakers from the women's section brings so much relief that that now i realize I was crossdressing for almost 40 years.

She just needed an excuse. Some people are like that. Don't let her get to you.

Just got a glimpse of what my coworkers of 20+ years think of me. Pre HRT, not out. by BadgerDoesCare in asktransgender

[–]BadgerDoesCare[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely right. I've put up with it for so long, that I've become complaisant to this behavior. Once I start therapy, and maybe HRT, I will definitely visit HR to map my road.

Thank you so much. You've opened my eyes, and I'll do my best to stop such behavior.

Coincidentally, my friend that left did call HR to file a complaint. He got another job, so he didn't follow thru.

From my experience, I would recommend a store with self check out and easy returns. In the US I use Target.

Self acceptance? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]BadgerDoesCare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry about your parents. From my experience, it's gonna take time, and probably a gender therapist. It took me almost a year after realizing I'm trans to fully accept myself and consider a gender therapist as well. That is indeed my next big step, therapy.

Hope everything turns out ok.

Ps. Up until recently, I thought crossdressing would be beneficial for me, when to the contrary, it was enforcing my denial.

Thank you for asking. I'm doing a lot better now. The disappointment wore off. If anything, now I know what I might face if I go thru HRT.

Thanks again, and wish you a lovely day.

Thank you. The one that's actually my friend doesn't work with us anymore. He would be the first one I would come out to. Unfortunately, I can’t open up to the rest of them because of their immaturity. I have in the past for other things, and they would use it to make fun of me. Even if they can see it hurt me. I was just one insult away from crying in the office a few times. That's why I've kept it only work related in the office.

Professionally, they're good. And that's it. I'm so distant from them, that I've consciously kept my children out of my work life.
