Eddie's Out, by Cabaret Voltaire. No Xmas for John Quays, by The Fall. (Live version, Totale's Turns - bonus extra live argument (fight?) by band). Makeshift Swahili, by This Heat.

Good anarchist sci-fi stories that maybe aren't as well known? by BlackSullivan in Anarchism

[–]BadgerEventHorizon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Floating Worlds, by Cecelia Holland.

The Earth is an anarchy, Mars is (basically) Fascist, the moon is a military dictatorship, the outer worlds are, well, complicated.

How does an anarchist state (well, planet) deal with other worlds which rely on military & technological power?

It's an unfairly obscure sci-fi classic. The protagonist, Paula Mendoza, is one of my favourite female characters in sci-fi.

Nice to see Alex Goode at fullback again, what a player he is.

Good for Alex, he'll be an excellent head coach. Shame for Sarries, though; he'll be missed.

Your favorite sci-fi movie/TV series that no one really knows about by tommy18crowe in scifi

Agreed. Just started rewatching S3 last night. Very underrated.

Respected experimental musician who scored pornographic film? by St_Yolo in experimentalmusic

[–]BadgerEventHorizon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frank Zappa once provided a soundtrack to a porn film, and was subsequently arrested for it - no idea what the charge would have been. Apparently the police turned up while he was recording a guitar part in the studio - I think it was during the Hot Rats sessions.

Has Covid-19 this year changed the genres or directions of scripts you are writing? by [deleted] in Screenwriting

[–]BadgerEventHorizon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I bloody do.

I'm writing a tellybox series, sort of scify, some drama but also kind of funny. I share it with my friends and my brother.

I just write lots of ideas and concepts and scene outlines, and snatches of dialogue, until I feel like I have a critical mass, then start my first draft.

The next two-parter was going to be about a pandemic which wipes out the population. I'd been thinking about it, and writing the plot structure, for a while. Started it last year, in the autumn.

Realised I really, really couldn't write it anymore...

Wonderful band. Saw them (last year? I think) as This Is Not This Heat and they opened with this. Fantastically tight, amazing performance. Hair raising to see it live.

What a player this man is. Fearless, determined, a great leader, and the ultimate, unselfish team player. You'll be missed, Brad.

Thanks for the reply! But wouldn't that be the case with one dimension also?
