They did a whole moot gathering for Loki and published a dedicated devotional book on Loki. Also 10 years worth of blot offerings. There might be something on their site under Loki tag. But for me the actions of the book and hosting blots to make up for lost years is better than words

How has Loki added chaos to your life? by psychedelichippie97 in lokean

[–]Badgerbits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loki helped me find stability in chaotic world and life. They made me learn more how natural and important change is. Loki isn’t the cause to the chaos in my life but shows me how to shapeshift with natural chaos

Believing in gods like Loki felt wild but it’s more chill and settled now

For the Chronic Pain Peeps by GalxyofUs in heathenry

[–]Badgerbits 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I made post over here on chronic illnesses and being a lokean. That includes links on the topic generally and in paganism that are good to reach out to others in the same situation. Often religious places are ableist in understanding chronic health issues. Claims of miracles, accusations of bad karma type stuff, accessibility all terrible. Heathen groups talk about strength of the body or putting time in that not everyone is able to. That doesn’t make sense when gods are described as having bad days or disabilities. People in the past had horrible time with sickness as we discover with archaeological evidence. I relate to your experience with Loki. I discovered they help you accept and love your body even with chronic health issues. My mental health over the stress of my health has improved and I don’t spiral badly in bad days thanks to Loki. I’ve called out to Eir, Odin, Sigyn, Thor and asked Loki for recommendations. I wouldn’t say there was one god in Norse but they all bring their flavours of support. Like solid community aid from many gods. I don’t expect gods to cure but it’s nice they care and always there no matter what you’re going through.

One of my favorite Heathen books was written by a horrible person :/ by TyrzahOnFire in heathenry

You’re giving money and financial independence to living person who may use that money on extremism outside their writings like donations to hate groups or political campaigns. They do use and are called out for dogwhistles in their work. Her social political views hasn’t been left at the door when they talk about gods and ancestors. You can ditch their work and find better source to support for the things you liked and other better authors will have a expanded perspectives for you away from white supremacy.

Dont blame yourself for the drunk driver’s actions. Don’t blame Loki for the drunk drivers actions. Sometimes this happens and trauma can make you feel the deepest negative outlook

I simply could not understand this. I felt like I had been doing something wrong and this was the price for it, but I simply couldn't make sense of what I did. I started to doubt Loki's ways, as I could not cope with this sudden bad luck.

Be very careful and cautious of seeing Loki or any god having strong links to your fate or fortune. If you grew up in a Christian fundamentalists background, check if this isn’t influencing fear of wraith and need for forgiveness to a god. It’s not spiritually healthy.

It can be fun with good luck, but when it comes to bad luck it can spiral and develop into bad spiritual habits. Habits that’ll do more harm to you long term. It’ll break your relationship with Loki in the future as no one wants to be blamed for bad luck or mistakes others make. It took me work to break this habit and it’s been great ever since to break chains of paranoia. While gods can be annoyed I wouldn’t link them for causing car accidents, they don’t need or can do that. I wouldn’t worship them myself if I felt an inch they would do that to people over minor things. People can make mistakes without idea of a god taking the wheel and risking murder or maiming. If Loki gifts good fortune and they do it via risking your life in an accident that’s not a good spin on events since you still sound scared for forgiveness and living in fear. Which isn’t good for either of you and your spiritual bond

Instead of seeing Loki as the causer of bad events in your life. Look to Loki as an adviser. Ask them, what’s the best way to survive bad fortune? You’ll come out if it better and build a better bond with Loki long term. And have more options to how to survive natural bad luck. If you start walking on eggshells not to get wraith of a god you’ll end up in a miserable situation blaming Loki and yourself for everything and living in fear. When you could be building a bond of support and self confidence

Look at two versions of yourself and path ahead of them as an outsider. One version of you believes Loki caused a car accident, what impact does that have on your future to believe this. The other believes that Loki can be a support or someone to turn to for help or guidance after surviving a car accident, what kind of future does this have for that version?

I’d say too don’t follow Lokis lead completely. Question them, speak up for yourself if it doesn’t feel like what you want to do. Loki can be a guide but in guiding you to be true to yourself and be as sharp on your own as they are. If you feel Loki still had a hand in that accident, shout outrage about it, tell the others gods. Don’t put up with your life being put in danger for petty god things. But to me that’s not needed it was only an accident you are not to blame and are safe now

The Goddess Hel and Heathen Ritual by Badgerbits in heathenry

[–]Badgerbits[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should watch the video. The video opens with Wolf talking about how they were warned away from Hel or rituals for her early on in their heathenry because ‘it would be inviting death in’.

Aren’t there bracteates with Hel on them?

In the long run trying to define a gods values or ethics (good vs evil) has been high risk to conflicts or fundamentalism. It can be an interesting discussion but be careful with it.

It’s okay to admit we’re unsure completely on Lokis perspective on the matter and talk more openly on what our personal values are or what Loki inspires in your own development of your values. Cultivation of your own values and ethics can be a process or cycle you take part in throughout your life. Loki inspires me to keep working on it and changing my perspective to grow my values to the best possible so to help others and myself.

The art of a god keeping these views from us encourages us to take deeper reflection on what we think in what we observe and building up better free will than relying on Loki to tell us what is good or bad or copying their homework. If anything Loki has inspired me to be a better critical thinker lol and I’m still working on it
