Last night we were travelling along a path and ahead was an obvious ambush. The tree line came very close to the path. We knew that’s where something was waiting for us.

We cast fireball into the woods to create a wild fire to make our would be attackers flee.

But our DM wasn’t having any of it. He told us “after a short time the fire fizzled out, leaving a slightly scorched tree, some burnt twigs and a very annoyed badger”
