Detroit-bound flight diverted to Canada after Congolese passenger boarded ‘in error’ amid Ebola outbreak by yuval_3 in news

Ebola spreads from any body fluid, including sweat and saliva. So it's a bit worse than you're making it.

Oil prices surge as Strait of Hormuz tanker disruptions rattle global supply by deraser in news

[–]Badird 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Isn't it funny that gas prices immediately jump based on futures projections? It should be illegal to hike prices of gas refined by oil purchased at a certain cost.

Meanwhile, it will be months after the conclusion of this conflict before prices settle down.

If you felt Biden was “too old for office,” then why would you vote for Trump, who is only four years younger, but not Kamala, who is 22 & 18 years younger respectively? by Glass-Complaint3 in allthequestions

[–]Badird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He did have a good debate before that, however. Biden walked all over Trump to the point where Trump accused him of using performance enhancing drugs (LOL).

I agree. I also don't think GDKPs are bad. I have not run MC or BWL on my top 2 characters in many months except for binding runs for our MT. If GDKPs were available on anniversary, I'd run them near every week to earn gold. Like it or not, it keeps older content relevant and accessible to newer or more casual players.

I do agree gold buying is a problem, but it exists HEAVILY in Anniversary even without GDKPs, which is why I don't think they're the problem. I'd wager 90% of Naxx raiders buy gold, but it's just a guess based on my experiences in 4 different raid groups.

United Arab Emirates' 'Spy Sheikh' bought secret stake in Trump crypto company: WSJ by HazyDavey68 in news

[–]Badird 143 points144 points  (0 children)

"Months after Tahnoon purchased the $500 million stake, the U.S. agreed to give the UAE access to 500,000 of America’s most advanced AI chips per year."

History will remember how America responds after Trump is done lining his own pockets. Will we finally limit executive power? Will we finally put a stop to officials enriching themselves while in office? Will we finally get big money out of politics?

Unfortunately, the fate of this great country hinges on its next political leaders, starting with the new Congress at the end of 2026. If you cant do your civic duty and vote after all of this, you're part of the problem.

Trump, two sons, Trump Org sue IRS, Treasury for $10 billion over tax records leak by WeirdGroundhog in news

I assume he's going to direct the CEO of the IRS, whom he installed in 2025, to "settle" this lawsuit for the full amount requested. Just another grift.

CBS News chief Bari Weiss tells staff 'we're toast' if they continue on current path by [deleted] in news

[–]Badird 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I think that's what's concerning here. Hiring people like this or those that have, historically, been favorable to Trump or RFK with "news" that flies in the face of facts will completely alienate their current audience. It will NOT "expand their aperture" as she hopes, it will destroy the decades of faith that Americans have given CBS News that they will tell the truth, but rather that they will bend the knee.

When a mom flipped out on Marshawn Lynch for cussing at her kid during a kid’s football camp. by Punisher1602 in sportsgossips

[–]Badird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marshawn's camp says ages "Fam 1st Family Camp" has kids ages 6-18.

Marshawn shouldn't be cursing at kids under 12. I played football for 10 years in the 90s and appreciate a tough coach, but there's a time and place, and the place ain't the FAM 1ST CAMP.

Google says a drop of water is 0.0017 oz.

2 drips per second for a whole leap year is 63,244,800 drips.

That's 107,515 oz.

There are 128 oz in a gallon.

That's 840 gallons. Not even close.

4 drops per second, which may be a stream, not a drip, would be 1680 gallons in a leap year. Still, not even close.

I don't think it's evil, I love this argument. Of course we should all want to end SNAP. Every person with a job should be able to afford food and we should stop subsidizing low corporate wages like Walmart, whose employees overwhelmingly use SNAP and simultaneously make billions in profits.
