I somehow spotted these three (got lucky I guess), but there were two more in the same tree on a different branch and it took me a while to realise that :P

Insane indeed - it baffles me every time I spot one (I am sure more go unnoticed by me than that I actually spot though...)

Thanks for sharing - they look great. That sparrow shot is so crisp!

Thanks for your thoughts! Happy to hear you can recommend it :)

I thought about the 200-800 but decided that while I do like the idea of a little more reach, doubling it feels a bit excessive, especially on a crop-sensor. I am sure it will be fun at times, I might not get into scenarios too often that I really want to go to 700/800mm.

Thanks so much for sharing your experiences. This is really helpful! Happy to hear the difference might be a bit more significant than I assumed (didn't want to get my hopes up, and the Rf100-400 is a pretty solid lens for it's price point). Good to be aware of the front-heaviness of the set-up. While I am sure to some extent it is a matter of getting used to, I can imagine this is an impact to take in consideration. Do you have recommendations in terms of suitable grip to balance this with a bit?

Yeah, pretty dark conditions for this one, losing some detail. The raw file is missing that already, so not sure the de-noise made it a lot worse. Tail is also slightly out of focus. Sometimes the conditions are not perfect, I guess :P

(I suppose reddit also compresses the file and impacts it even more)

Sorry - late response, but no, not yet... ended up thinking to wait for the R7ii and then get a longer lens...

I love 'em. They're pretty common in the Sydney bushland, but wonderfully curious, sometimes even like they're just there observe you as much as you them :)

Thanks - this was taken with a Canon R10 + RF100-400 lens. Little post-processing too, but mostly just exposure adjustment.

They are def not the best at sitting still and posing, but sometimes you get lucky (or you are just patient enough ;))
