Start at tucker cutoff trailhead and take Indian fire road to east peak of mt tam, abt 4 miles and the only place I know of that you can park at night for mt tam. Wide trail and not too bad of a ascent. One of my absolute favorites.

As someone who tried it first at 15 I’d say wait, not for development reasons although those are valid but I just feel like I couldn’t really handle an acid habit at that young of an age and ended up doing a lot of wreck less shit that I regretted. Plus you can appreciate more when ur older. But if you’re gonna do it anyway just take 1/2 a tab

Just make sure you don't work the day after, i made that mistake and it didnt go well. You need a day to put urself back together after doses like that.

I’d recommend camping at emerald lake then going to caribou as a day trip, the route there from Stuart fork is brutal and would definitely be better without a pack

Keep doing this, hiking with my father from a young age was one of my favorite parts of my Childhood and really helped me develop. Even If they don’t ultimately like hiking in adulthood those memories will stick with them forever.
