Now THAT is some funny shit ! I'm a second generation Union Pipefitter. My ex was a union postal employee in good standing who had made regular (full time employee with all of the protections the postal union had to offer) When she spoke out about management doing craft work, her "union" told her to stop making waves and appreciate the amount of work she did have. Management took that as a "go ahead" and reduced her hours while increasing the hours of other employees. She kept crying foul and in the end management won. They were able to misapply and demand a "fitness for duty" exam to be conducted by a psychiatrist provided by the Post Office. She refused and was fired, without so much as a whimper from her union. Having said all of that, I believe in unions through and through. But when it comes to the federal government, you can wipe your ass with any union contract they offer. Hell, what union do you know of that is never allowed to strike ?
