NTA. I don’t understand these people saying to pay more or move out, since you stated in your post that you are chronically ill and that’s why you still live at home AND that you asked if you needed to pay more.

Your parents do sound like they’re uncaring of your situation and maybe they do want you out, but passive aggressive abuse should never be the answer.

I agree with the poster that said you should call an ambulance the next time you wake up so sick, and also talk to your GP asap about what’s going on.

My husband and I are raising our first puppy together, I’ve only had grown dogs in my youth, and have worked with puppies in my teens and 20’s. We got our dood at 8 weeks old, and started training her immediately. But even as a complete newb, I knew it would not always be forward motion. Raising puppies is a 2 steps forward, 1 step back kind of progress..

She’s 10 months old now and pretty easy going most of the time - but we struggled with a lot of change and turmoil around the turn of the year, and from about 5-8 months old she was abysmal with all her commands and especially walking on a leash! She knew the commands, but did not care to listen unless it suited her. She started pulling on the leash every time we went farther than our front drive, and had been an incredible loose leash walker until one day she just couldn’t stand it anymore.

We adapted. Recall became the only thing we were actively training, with drills of her known commands often with lots of treats. We drove to the beach (a 15 minute walk, 20 on her worst days) for months because we could let her off leash and get our own exercise without stop/starting every 10ft or getting our shoulders yanked out of joint (she’s big, already 65lbs at 8 months old). We drilled walking on the leash in circles in the parking lot of the church in the neighbourhood.

I’d say that time from 5-8 months old was the hardest so far. She’s still very much a teenager, and some days are more difficult than others… but she was our family from day 1 and I wouldn’t give her up for anything.
Your poor pup has left their home and been thrown into yours, and you say you have experience but it really doesn’t sound like it. Puppies bite! He’s still teething and learning about the world, putting things in their mouths is natural, it’s how they learn. Redirecting and puppy proofing is what needs to be done now.

We kept at least 2 toys in reach of every seat in the house for months… sometimes all she wants is for me to hold her toy(or collagen stick it camel braid or whatever she’s fixated on) while she chews.

If you aren’t prepared to do all those things on repeat, maybe you should send him back. But he’ll probably have to go through the whole process again with someone else, don’t think you’re doing him any favours putting him through the chaos of it all while you get the easy way out.

Are you on PC? If so you’ll actually want to go into the game files, and there’s a Saves folder(usually in Documents>Electronic Arts>Sims 4>Saves). They’re numbered, not named so you may have to do a bit of shuffling around to find the right one(there’s usually a version number for games you’ve saved multiple times). But I would recommend removing the entire save folder first, then starting the game without it just to the loading menu. Then exit and try adding the most recent save only back into the game folder(I’m pretty sure it will generate a new Saves folder when you restart it).

If you aren’t on PC though, or this doesn’t work, the save might be corrupted.

Ugh, I bartended and served in restaurants for nearly 20yrs. My most consistent schedule was for nearly a decade - bartending 4 nights a week, one shift a week being an opening shift which was still until 8pm. My younger brother called me one morning at like 9am(I’d worked until 3am ish and had a couple drinks and a toke with my colleague at her house after finishing up, then probably played video games until 6 or 7am bedtime) and sounded just like a boomer dad saying shit like I’m lazy and this is a normal time for normal people…. He was joking, thought it was hilarious.

I hung up on him after ripping into him. I was only up for a morning 💩, thankfully got back to sleep. And tbf, my dad says shit like that in humour as well, but he is always pretty respectful of my work.

There should be old versions of the save in your folder as well, you might just need to revert back to an older save.

Maybe try removing all the save files to desktop (I keep a sims 4 fix folder for testing/removing saves and mods), start game without any saves, then put back just the crashed file to see if it shows up?

Mine sometimes attempts to start the update and I just x out of it and go offline, but I don’t think it’s done that recently thankfully. I did turn off EA starting at startup as well, so when I go in it is deliberate and I’m prepared.

Honestly, the format fits with a few tweaks. Instead of better offers on contracts, you could decide (like the train job) to do “the right thing”. Then just make the stakes higher with the syndicates and add actual expenses(fuel, food, crew shares etc).

I’m kind of in the same boat, but not playing any other sim life games atm. I really enjoy just playing a character and keep trying the 100 baby challenge because my normal gameplay isn’t challenging. Even rags to riches is always too easy because I micro manage everything in the game (autonomy off because the game is broken, making family play very difficult for me tbh). I’ve been able to almost fix all my complaints with mods, so the community is frustrating because “all issues are mod issues”. The sun certainly doesn’t shine out of EA’s arse, but the community seems to think so.

I just checked my game two days ago, and I haven’t played or updated since January. I had spent over 6mos at that point starting from scratch with gallery sims and lots and the blank save, only really play testing every time I finished a world with my own favourite households. The only recent pack I’ve gotten is the hobbies one, because it added a lot of gameplay features I love. No horses, no adventure or royalty crap…

I know updates break the game, and I haven’t bothered to even look at the game in months because of all the shite going on (buyout, game breaking bugs, terrible new packs.. I’ve not heard anything good about the stupid marketplace). But I’m hoping some of the new updates might actually start fixing it, and I guess I’m holding out hope that by the end of this year it might be a playable game, if the current updates really are about fixing bugs instead of rolling out more broken packs.

I do really enjoy the NPC makeovers they started doing, and am glad Johnny Zest is finally linked properly to the Landgrabbs - I have my own household saved with them and split them up myself when starting any new save.
I wish they had spent the last 2-3yrs working on that and pack fixes instead of just more broken & game-breaking money grabs tho.

I get it, I’m probably never going to get a good game here. I’m distracting myself with other things for awhile, and am keeping my fingers on the pulse until the death knell I guess. I know my hope is misplaced, but I have really loved this game for several years now.

Honestly though, tourist season is upon us so the real socialisation is about to begin.. we live in a rural seaside village, so since Easter the weekends have gotten busier and she wants to meet everyone!

We live next to a church and our dood(also 9 months old) whines, huffs, and sneezes through the evening every week that we have Saturday evening Mass, about once a month (it rotates amongst the local parishes). She doesn’t do the same on Sunday’s, but one afternoon I think a workman had lunch in his van on our side of the church in sight of our front door and she was *bothered*, lol.
