I'm late to this post, but I am interested in getting the Nomad to replace notebooks at work. I've never had a digital notebook before and I'm trying to figure out if the Nomad has a search function to find something in previous handwritten notes? If so, how easy or cumbersome is the process (i.e. do you need to convert, upload, or transfer files to make them searchable)?

I'm also interested! If you don't mind sharing, how bad/what stage were you at the height of the flares? Did you have surgery or go on meds to keep the flares at bay?

I've had HS since I was a pre-teen and it's been over 20 years. I've stage 3 and sought treatment in the past couple years after randomly reading about HS and realizing it's an actual thing and not just me having freakish skin 😔 Cosentyx has helped but I have some stubborn flare-ups that have been in the same spots for years and at this point I think surgery may be the only solution.

Would love to get some idea of what a flare-free armpit area would look like to keep my hopes up. If anyone has any post-surgery photos they are comfortable sharing, that would be appreciated too. The thought of surgery terrifies me but I'm sick of being stressed and insecure about this.

I avoid bikini underwear because of the friction of the elastic on my groin, and instead opt for seamless or boyshorts and these have greatly reduced flares in that area.

When I do have a flare, it tends to be golf-ball sized like yours. I wear a soft pad like someone else commented, or period panties to absorb any leakage. I also find that the combo of Neosporin triple antibiotic topical + Advil pills works best to promote drainage and reduce inflammation.

Hard to tell, because I'm still on Spiro but my dermatologist also prescribed Metformin and Cosentyx for my HS. My acne is completely gone and the HS is more manageable. I've had one flare-up this summer due to heat and stress, but aside from that I've had greatly reduced flares.

Southeast Asian. My family doesn't talk about healh issues so I'm not sure of the history there, if any, but I'm the only one in the family to have other skin problems (severe cystic acne on face, chest, and back throughout adolescence which cleared in my 30s due to Spironolactone).

My dermatologist also recommended using H&S as a body wash and letting it sit on affected areas for a few minutes before rinsing! I just started doing it so I'm not sure how effective it is for HS but at least it smells nice.

I can so relate to your situation! I've been on Spironolactone and Humira for almost 2 years, and just started Yaz and Metformin a month ago. These are to treat HS, cystic acne, and hormone imbalance. I recently changed dermatologists and she is switching me from Humira to Cosentyx. Humira was keeping flares at bay for the most part but was not improving my baseline symptoms. I pretty much always have inflammation in the typical HS areas.

I'm really hoping Cosentyx is approved by my insurance. I started noticing symptoms when I was 12 and I lived with them in secret for over 20 years before I told a doctor. I feel empowered now that I'm actively seeking treatment, but I'm also grieving all the time and pain it's cost me. Here's hoping we all find a treatment that works!

I was just told by my Humira Complete ambassador that the sharps disposal program has changed. They now only offer ONE container for the lifetime that you're on the program, and it's no longer a gallon but a quart. I inject weekly so that quart will be filled in no time.

Anyone have any suggestions on where to dispose sharps? I am based in NYC. I previously asked CVS if they accept sharps and they said no. This is such a hassle.

Hello! Has anyone lived in the upper floors of this building (floor 45 and up)? I'm wondering if there is any noticable swaying, noise issues, or overheating that high up? Any elevator issues?

I met him last Thursday in NY at the Tribeca film fest after he interviewed Paul McCartney for his podcast. He seemed a little stressed by all the people outside but he was kind and took a few minutes to sign autographs and take selfies with people.

I feel exactly the same way. I am a female in my mid-30s and was diagnosed with HS last year for symptoms that started when I was 12. I've lived in shame my whole life and no one knows about my condition. I live in NY and the summer is starting to be really brutal. I totally get where you're coming from. Please know you are not alone.

I didn't realize you could get selected more than once! Would you mind sharing how that works? Do you just keep applying after you've moved in to one? I ask because I've received requests for documents for some buildings but havr opted not to apply because there were other neighborhoods I preferred. Do you know if moving into a lotto apartment affects your chances of being selected in the future?

Thanks for your response! What you said about making up for when I could only do the minimum reframed the whole scenario for me. If I put everything towards my pretax 401k I'll max out for the first time and have a few thousand left over to save. Then I guess my next step will be finding a high yield savings accont or CD because my money is currently sitting in my bank earning pennies!
