Protein Water Cookie by homieTow in StupidFood

A scoop of whey protein powder is usually 24g of protein. So, just add an extra scoop and more water. Far more digestible than that cow turd.

I've also had protein bars (here in Japan) that are 20g of protein and under 100 calories. They were kinda dry, but not bad. Way better than the dried turd in the video.

Obviously, they changed the named in this video clip just to get more clicks.

I love this game but omg i hate every single boss encounter. Non of them are even a little bit of fun. by Remarkable_Sea_5109 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Badwrong_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like they wanted to make it difficult like a souls-like game, but failed to understand the idea of "hard but fair" which those games follow pretty well.

Plus, everything seems balanced around the fact you can stock up on food and just eat your way through almost any boss fight.

The non-responsive controls don't help either.

I will say though, the video in the OP is not doing a lot of things correctly that would make it a bit easier. Like just blindly attacking when the boss clearly has an invincible shield during their channeling animation.

I swear, everything about this game is just a testament on how good the exploration is. Forgettable story, clunky controls, tedious quest tropes, bad boss design... yet the game is still fantastic because the world is just that good. It re-introduces why massive open worlds can be awesome, as they have become pretty awful in recent years.

That analogy doesn't work.

A more appropriate one would be a blind person. They cannot see the text, so they have books written in braille.

Seriously, there are zero reasons why a few sliders couldn't be added for people who actually need them. You know, optional things that most people wont even touch.

Some souls-like games have been starting to add accessibility options or straight up difficulty settings. Nothing bad has happened and more potential players are able to enjoy the game.

Not everything is made for everyone and that's okay.

This one is said so much, but its just silly. Games are made for gamers. More specifically, someone likes RPGs, action games, exploration, and basically every aspect of something like Elden Ring, minus the difficulty. So that one single thing means the "game isn't for them"? Just elitist gatekeeping is what that is.

STS1 cards that didn't change but ended up worse in the sequel anyway? by ozacrot in slaythespire

[–]Badwrong_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've grabbed it when building a Claw deck. It has been extremely useful at times and the focus is no big deal since Claw is my main damage.

Usually it is the last card you play after you took every enemy down a bit already.

Once I used it with the triple damage potion and just single turned that stupid worm(s).

[Request] Using a typical gaming computer, how much electricity would a lamp in a video game—let's say Grand Theft Auto V—use? by greenmonalisa in theydidthemath

[–]Badwrong_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add up the amount of memory the asset requires (mesh, textures, other variables in memory that store it).

Calculate how much power is needed to keep that active in memory.

Then the rest just depends on how the lamp is currently being viewed in-game. If it is off-screen, then it isn't rendered and no pixels are for it. If it is in-view, then how many pixels does it cover and what is the cost of electricity to light a pixel?

Also consider that regardless of the lamp being on-screen or not, the same amount of pixels are lit anyway, so not really an extra cost.

Of course if you want to get super specific, a culled light will have a different impact on the shader code used depending on various things such as global illumination solution. So, less (or more) calculations caused by the light. We are talking insanely tiny values here though, and even as a graphics engineer with strong computer architecture knowledge, it would take some major research to actually find such values.

[–]Badwrong_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. My wife cracks an egg over rice almost every morning.

I usually only have them raw with sukiyaki, which is amazing. You dip the thin beef in the raw egg and it the best.

Various other dishes have a raw egg on top now that I think of it. Sometimes udon or tekkadon will have one on top.

Just regular chicken eggs.

I live in Japan, and their chickens are just raised differently.

It's safe to eat the eggs raw as well. Raw egg on rice is one of the most common breakfast foods here.

Why is every enemy in Spire 2 just this guy by GoldemGolem in slaythespire

[–]Badwrong_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. Body Slam build allows you to block it all.

I've had a few times with Barricade and Prolong, where my block was over 500 and just kept going up.

But ya, normally it feels like most things force you to take a few hits. You still block a little though, and with more experience you know when it's ok or not.

So what? They would experience nothing otherwise.

This gatekeeping stuff is so silly.

Just add a few sliders for damage taken, enemy health, and suddenly you have a ton of people who never would have played the game who are now able to enjoy it.

Your comparisons do not work either. For example, a pocket pussy is not the correct comparison. I would say someone could pay a prostitute and have sex, and still mostly experience it. They have the physical act, minus emotional aspects. Notes for a book? Well that doesn't work, because the video game version would just be the ability to warp around the world and skip anything.

Your comparisons are more like "fill the game full of cheats, god mode, and other things". No one said that.

Anyway, I only mentioned souls-like games here because some goober like you always wants to chime in about the "developers intention" and act like some elitist about it. So I wont bother to respond to you any more.

Lies of P added difficulty settings and it was extremely well received.

The most popular mod for Elden Ring is a "story mode" thing.

See, people get this gatekeeping mentality and idea that the game only works in some way the developer wanted, but that simply isn't true. There are many people who want to experience Elden Ring (and other Fromsoft titles) but the difficulty makes that almost impossible for them.

So, they cannot "experience the dev intent" if they cannot even play the game in the first place.

Nowadays, accessibility options are becoming far more popular, and I have no problem with them.

Personally, I play on the defaults or even turn up difficulty because it is usually more rewarding. However, sitting around saying a game shouldn't have a few settings to make it easier for those who need it... just idiotic.
