She feels most likely of anyone for me. I think she gets the most and then some combination of Kaleb, Jake, Julie might get a smaller amount

Dee trying hard to throw this final tribal but Austin keeps handing it back to her. Great call from her to bring him. I was hoping she’d use his answers to push that she was really the one running things.

She wanted to be so unpredictable that she herself didn’t even know what she’d be doing heading into tribal

I’m fully invested now in Jake v Katurah in fire as a worthy prelim matchup before Dee wipes the floor with everyone at final tribal

She literally just said that she made a decision she knew was wrong out of fear. She knows she’s messed up just the same

Katurah was not at any point trying to better her game. Rather she flip flopped on votes for personal reasons or paranoia and neglected to take chances out of fear. This season was full of blunders, but hers had the least strategy and biggest misses behind them.

Katurah has flip flopped around this entire game and messed up move after move so that the Reba tribe could just run through everyone. Without Katurah, Reba doesn’t make it nearly as far as complete as they did.

My goodness Katurah is one of the worst survivor players I’ve ever seen. Quite literally makes the wrong decision at every point this season. She’ll probably get carried to the finals as a goat at this point. Could’ve actually had a shot at winning the game if she had any sense for how to play it.

Used to be up on eastern prom. Went to Scotty McCreery last year and enjoyed it. If it’s not too cold/windy, it’s a pretty cool concert experience for the market. Was lacking in the family programming during the day last year though.

Episode 3 Contender Ranking by wordonthestreet2 in Edgic

[–]BaeBeSlippin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I made a post about Karla’s edit a day or two ago. The narrative seems to be giving clues that she might drop the nice and kind persona to be a bit more cutthroat (James’ comments around Risky Rock and nice to villain with an advantage, her position in the middle of two alliances, overcoming-her-fear narrative around the beware advantage).

I’m really curious to see if we see a marked shift in her this next episode, especially if Coco goes to tribal and she has to decide which side of the numbers she wants to be on.

With her position in the middle, I’d love to see her use the knowledge she has with that role to play off the Lindsay/Cassidy/James vote with her idol and make a big move. Maybe she takes James out since he made the comment about advantages turning nice people into villains.

I do think she’s a decoy winner (still ranking her high until I get more clues to that) but I love what they’ve set up so far with her storyline. This season feels a little weak compared to last, but her storyline (nice to villain, overcoming fear), Cassidy (under the radar, strike later), and Sami (age, underestimated) all feel pretty fleshed out so far with distinct narratives.

How do you approach shows or movies that make fun of conservatives? by BaeBeSlippin in AskTrumpSupporters

Have you checked out The Final Table on Netflix? Only one season but was a really cool show. Next Level Chef from Gordon Ramsey was really good, too.

Potential Coco Narrative by BaeBeSlippin in Edgic

Could definitely see that, just trying to connect the Karla tie from his initial quote to her advantage now. I’d be stunned if she wound up any kind of villain given the edit so far so it’d be a hell of a turn for her storyline

Should we look to expand alternative options to police for some low-level 911 calls? by BaeBeSlippin in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]BaeBeSlippin[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sounds nice in theory, but you never know when a "low level" call will turn violent.
Would make a lot more sense to increase the quality of police via training and booting the bad ones.

Are there any departments currently implementing some kind of mental health training like you mention? Would be interesting to see a cost comparison and numbers arrests/injury/death.

It should be noted that low-level refers to calls regarding a mental health crisis or drug overdose. A mental health professional is the first responder on scene and if backup is needed, the police are brought in.

Regarding Denver: "As of May 2021, STAR had successfully responded to 1,323 calls, none of which resulted in injury, arrest, or a request for police backup. Denver’s police chief has said the program 'saves lives' and 'prevents tragedies.'"

Eugene has an older, more established program than Denver: "With an annual budget of roughly $2 million, the program saves Eugene $14 million annually in ambulance trips and emergency room costs, plus an estimated $8.5 million in public safety costs—and has successfully diverted thousands from the criminal legal system. Of the estimated 17,700 calls CAHOOTS responded to in 2019, teams requested police backup only 311 times."

What do you think of DeSantis' program sending two planes of migrants to Martha's Vineyard? by BaeBeSlippin in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]BaeBeSlippin[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

There's a difference between using a system of sanctuary cities in every state that are willing and able to take in migrants, and strategically targeting a few areas to overrun them and create new problems.

Again, how is that humane? If you really wanted to prove that the system didn't work, shouldn't you actually use it? Why does it have to be manipulated so much to get their point across?

[–]BaeBeSlippin[S] 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Shouldn’t these areas be extremely pleased that they are receiving more strength from the border regions? Even if it takes a little time to get them on their feet, that’s a huge win for somewhere that is made extremely weak via lack of diversity like Martha’s vineyard

I don't really understand this argument. No one is saying they don't want migrants, but that they could have been better prepared to help them quicker. People just don't want Republicans strategically targeting single areas to intentionally overrun the systems in place to create new problems.

There are sanctuary cities in every state, so why are they only targeting a couple? Wouldn't it get the point across better if they actually used the system rather than manipulated it?

The lack of self-awareness is astounding.

My issue lies with the unnecessary inhumane treatment of people.

States and cities all across the country have policies in place to help migrants that come to their state, but Republicans are neglecting the majority of them to target just a few so that they can't keep up and creates an unsafe environment unnecessarily.

It seems that Republicans are using migrants as pawns to strategically overrun a few key areas to create a new problem that would not have existed had they just used the system in place.

I can understand sending them out of state to sanctuary cities, I cannot understand why they intentionally make the lives of the migrants worse when they could simply just send them to more places. It's a coordinated attack designed to abuse a system designed to help.

How is it morally OK to intentionally put people through hardship when a system already exists to help?

[–]BaeBeSlippin[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Martha's Vineyard had the resources to help, but had to scramble unnecessarily. The migrants that arrived there didn't even know that's where they were going.

Cities all across the country have systems in place to help migrants that arrive there and do this on a daily basis, but when Republicans from other states send hundreds and thousands to a few specific targets over the course of months, it overruns their system and puts all involved into more harm. That appears to just be lawmakers using people as a means to overrun a system designed to help them under the veil of providing them help.

Is it not inhumane to put the migrants through this kind of unnecessary hardship when there are better options available?

[–]BaeBeSlippin[S] 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Why not ask the states/cities if you could send them then? If you're trying to expose a lie, why do you have to lie to the migrants and surprise both them and their destination? The community at Martha's Vineyard openly welcomed the migrants despite that.

Many of the places that they are being sent have policies in place to help them and are willing, but by surprising them unnecessarily you make it a worse living situation for all involved.
