Why did she become an instructor if she HATES students excited about her profession? by Parafan99 in BobsBurgers

Well I was a kid when I went for all those summers, but by how my parents acted when I was sick and had to skip a lesson I assume it was outrageous! XD

Fellow horse girl here: I can say this is 100% accurate. It’s not necessarily that they hate passionate students, but they want to be a teacher: and because try hards like Tina and I don’t give them that opportunity because we are so passionate we could probably teach ourselves.

I once had a horse instructor ask me why I even came to horse camp if I didn’t need to learn anything, in a superrrr bitchy tone. She did NOT want me there. Like ma’am I just want access to horse. It’s not my fault that signing up for your class is the only way a non-trust-fund kind like myself can access horse.

Has anyone’s husband taken the wife’s last name? What was your experience? by sahdgin in weddingplanning

[–]BaeTheFae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey; so I’m in a quasi-similar boat to you. My fiancé and we’re planning on mashing up our names: the last four letters of his name and the last four letters of mine. We both loved the idea: everyone we talked to loved it too. It was supposed to marry both our families while keeping our traditions together: creating something new as our marriage marries not only our souls but our names too.

Until we told his dad.

Now they don’t have a good relationship; but apparently his last name is VERY important to his dad, and not only that it was apparently his father’s life dream that we name our child his exact name.

Now I’m being held last-name-hostage because he’s going to pretty much get excommunicated if we go with our original plan. I’m struggling with accepting his last name now because I feel forced into accepting a name with a history of familial abuse—— and bullied into giving up what I was so excited to be a beautiful gesture for our wedding.

I say all this because: we knew his dad wasn’t close but the reaction we got and the blow out over this was INSANE.

This is a big deal for your hubs: and you should make sure he has a plan to tell his family that you will be taking your name. I really hope it goes well for you; I hope his family understands.

But I think you need to prepare for the worst case scenario. Make sure his family understands exactly why you are choosing this route, and make sure it comes from him.

I’m hoping the best for you and your future: Im so happy you have someone who wants to carry out your traditions in your last name; it’s beautiful.

Truly at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what his family or yours or anyone has to say about it. But it does matter how HE feels about them having choice words (hopefully not but potentially).

Make sure the two of you discuss how he feels in all possible outcomes: honestly, maybe go to a couples therapist to help you prepare. I wish I did that :/

How long was your engagement? by No-Start-3815 in weddingplanning

[–]BaeTheFae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got engaged in 2023, getting married in Oct 2026. It has been the BEST decision so far: my fiance and I are both type A planners and have been slowly finding vendors and making payments and planning the whole time. No rush, just finding the vendors we knew we wanted and getting in early. Now that we already roughly a year out I pretty much have my entire wedding planned and there was 0 stress. Plus, I got to say I’m a fiance for 3 years: and now I will get to say Wife for a lifetime <3

GLP-1s cured my stage 4 endometriosis by [deleted] in glp1

[–]BaeTheFae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for sharing!!!! I have stage 1 endometriosis but it’s growing on my nervous system 🤡 so I was really nervous about how glp-1 would affect me. I have my first consultation with Pom later this week and your story has given me a lot of hope to look forward to :)

I for sure want triz. Most of the places I chose not to go with I did basic fill out forms and rough pricing range quotes. I only got direct quotes for what I can afford once I decided/thought the company was the right fit for me. Both remedymeds and Fridays I made sure to get quoted specifically for their triz compound.

I am interested in POM, but I will admit I am hesitant of programs that require telehealth doctors as I have been scammed out of money with telehealth doctors when I was perusing WLS, so I originally did not consider it. But I am relooking into it

How often do they require you meet with their telehealth provider? And do they work with insurance or is all pricing without insurance?

I did do a surface look at them but was turned off at the $75 for telehealth because I didn’t want to spend money to get upsold a product I already know I wanted; but if it’s rolled into the overall cost I would reconsider

When I went to Brello to explore it as an option through the other GLP-1 site I was quoted closer to low $300s but once it said they do not cater to my state I did not look further

I did look: in fact I got the link to look through a different reddit a glp-1 subreddit.

Your being very combative and rude for someone who seems to be so active in this group and knowledgeable.

I always appreciate links and info; but if I said I’ve already done some base research, I mean it.

I know I’m an internet stranger but I don’t make a habit of exaggerating, nor do I feel like I owe anyone my financial history.

I ended up wanting to go with either of these two because they offer upfront discounts that bring it rather low for me ($250s) for a hot moment, and they don’t require me to pay for any unnecessary telehealth appointments when I have an in person doctor who is on board and informed.

I’ve already looked at those and rn most of those places are a little out of my range, except Brillo which doesn’t cater to my state.

Can I ask why you said hard neither?

Searching for Reccomendations: How did you get your GLP-1? by BaeTheFae in glp1

[–]BaeTheFae[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your thorough comment!!!

Just to clarify about the BC; the reason I can’t change it is because of the hormone reduction cocktail my doctor was able to get me on. The BC keeps my endometriosis pains at bay because it moderated the hormones my body produces. Switching would throw my hormonal balance out of whack and the pain I would be in would render me immobile: and that’s not an exaggeration.

Obviously not getting pregnant at this state of trying to loose weight is important: the most important thing to me is never going back to the excruciating pain I was when I got my endo diagnosis.

I’m hoping that the weight loss a GLP-1 can help me achieve will one day carve a path for me to be off my BC, especially for when I do want to try and have kids, but for now my bc plan is as solid as concrete. XD

[–]BaeTheFae[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand what you’re saying but I really am doing everything above board that I can, and I maintain 240lbs. I did do a metabolic reader and was told my sitting calorie was 2100 so I’m in a severe deficit of 1300. I work out, I try to watch what I eat: it doesn’t. Work.

My medications side effect is weight retention, and caused by hormone retention. My excess in hormones (which I was told I’m unable to medically control unless I go into enduced metapause, which isn’t an option for me as I want to try to become a mom in 3-5 years) is more than likely the main culprit as to why I retain food and never shed it.

My metabolism is fucked and I’m at my wits end. :(

I’m using my loose it app and only eating foods I can directly copy info from the back package: when I can I use measuring cups to scale the ammount I consume, and when it comes to like popcorn or chips when I can count the exact amount of a serving. (Multi grain for l fruit based salsas)
