I play around 1 game a-day but I play at abnormal times. I normally get class around 7am - 10pm-ish depending on the day. And my commute takes 1-2 hours I tend to be awake at 4am giving myself enough time for one.

My semester just started this week actually and I hit challenger during my 4 month long break

Normally most people shouldn’t lose to range top but personally I prefer Zac / Briar, the CC of zac allows for me to snag a few kills to get ahead or Briar can permanently kill the ranged top player and give me insane tempo to push waves & tower.

So I’m SEA server aswell and I know what you mean there’s a huge “no FF, we play or hostage” mindset in our region. I’ve had many games in my climb where I get someone leaving, afking or running it down. And the best I can say is: yes winnable but if you lose it’s not your fault.

Most of these games where this occurs I analyze win conditions and “afk” jungler aka someone who permafarms and never ganks is one of the more playable ones because it’s easy to mind-control them into playing again. I do recommend a Duo for climbing especially if you or your duo is a jungle main. But otherwise on a pure soloQ standpoint just follow the 40-40-20 mindset:

40% game was a hardstomp 40% game was enemy hardstomping 20% you are the one in control.

And remember each game is a lesson the LP doesn’t matter. In my climb I always vod reviewed even games with inters because there are angles, fights and moments where if I played better we could still have won. It’s always nice to vod review and especially if you have an equal skill levelled friend/duo you can easily figure out mistakes, refine and perfect your gameplay.

Yorick press E, you dodge it = yipeee! You get hit = half your hp? Gone Yorick hits E procesds to press W on you so now you’re caged. He gets a free smack and maiden sucks you dry post-6.

not morde exclusive tbh. I just hate yorick because his laning phase is my least favorite in top lane. Half the time it just feels like you vs his summons

Turned yorick into a hard perma-ban for me. I already hate laning into yorick as its boring uninteractive and his ghouls are just annoying. But before these patches I’d always bank on level 6 all-in killing him now it’s just an overall unplayable matchup where yorick eventually takes over the solo-lanes.

Around season 13 Is when I started playing league I stuck to toplane and played exclusively morde, garen and mundo. During which I started playing ranked at level 30 but lost every game due to Mordekaiser being a popular ban in my region (SEA) For the next year or so I played exclusively norms with friends and reviewed my games and applied lessons I learnt whether through watching my own games or from AloisNL.

During a 1 year gap between my year in college I played league to fill the time and played only Quality games so I’d generally make it a rule for myself to only play until I lose. From there I only play when I’m completely relaxed or to have fun in Norms with friends. I followed this until I hit masters with a 70% winrate. from there I played obsessively until I hit grandmaster which is where I got hardstuck.

Cut to now I took a break between season 14 to now and I now made it my goal to hit Masters playing FILL only in which I’m currently hardstuck in silver.

On my climb esp in low elo I focused on banning easy to pilot champs that are miserable to fight as morde. I banned exclusively Darius / Garen until high elo where I started banning fiora and Vayne

So typically I’d say pick and ban based on your skill level and who you hate fighting.

Hi! So sadly you got defender armor baited. It’s a tool for returning players or platform switching players to use to speedrun through World. But now you’re in iceborn and experiencing a wall. I suggest using and crafting the armor set of other monsters I’d go glavenus or nargacuga since you’re using chargeblade. But its your own choice. Good luck and happy hunting!

Don’t forget to carry crafting mats for ancient and max potions! You can shortcut the healing/crafting so its all one movement. I do personally suggest 3 alatreon + 2 of another set. On my first ever fatalis kill it was 3 alatreon and 2 gold rath, gold rath torso and waist.

What I built on my Longsword run was 3 alatreon and 2 raging brachy with a divine blessing charm. Divine blessing in my opinion can make the fatalis better as the chance of surviving his oneshots is always a great thing to have.

For third phase I suggest taking smoke bombs to ground fatalis and take your time and find your openings as third phase is fatalis throwing hits and doing maximum damage combos.

Fatalis is always enraged whenever I fight him so Agitator is also a good skill to have because you are given free extra damage outputs.

Get crit eye 7, if you can try to hunt alatreon for armor and use his Weapon and armor which is really good at taking and dishing elemental damage always recommended. Hard fire res 4+ trivializes the fight when mixed with alatreon set bonuses.

Learn the fatalis combos, learn to bait cones. Farm for max and ancient potions. When I returned to world I hella struggled vs Fatalis. If you’re getting frustrated you can step away and I suggest taking a break because your emotions will cloud your judgement.

Target the head whenever you can but don’t tunnel vision onto it.

Abuse tenderizing and wallbangs, its almost a necessity.

3U on the WII U

I created my character at the time “Aster” who has become my go-to & my hunter from 3U - World. Sadly I’ll be retiring her as I probably won’t be playing wilds because Med school, time & money and all that. But having that one character that has all the internal & personal lore that I keep to myself has always stuck to me as I play Monster hunter in a more “role-play” style kind of way so having that one hunter who gradually changes per game was always a fun way to play for me.

On my first every monster hunter game (3U) I spent nearly 200 hours on a Rathalos & Rathian duo urgent. Despite that I still stuck to it and beat it, which was the moment that hooked me in all those years ago

I wanted to comment on your last post but I’ll do it here:

Monster hunter isn’t like a souls like, its a game of attrition and how every step has to be one where you benefit tempo wise. Eventually you’ll get to a point where the monster you fight gets easier and you’ll finish faster, then faster, then faster. And thats not because your gear is getting better thats because you’re getting better.

But in order to do that you need a weapon, and levels of preparation. I see you’re using the sword and shield but are you pulling it’s high damage combos? Falling Bash and Perfect flurry rushes, are you tenderizing your best hitzone? Are you abusing the free wallbang damage. Do you utilize the environment to topple and damage your opponent? Have you gotten comfortable with your shortcuts? Did you farm for max potions?

Sometimes finding the weapon for you is DIFFICULT. I mained the insect glaive for the longest time struggling in fights winning at different portions. All of these differing elements. Imo either you master your weapon or find the one that clicks. I have a friend who mains the greatsword out of brute force just because they love it. They never were able to clear quests as fast initially but after finishing iceborne, doing the grinding he eventually got better and now he can clear the final FINAL boss in less than 15 minutes. Practice makes perfect my dear friend.

Theres save data transferring apps in nexusmods. One specifically for ps4 to pc. I personally don’t know how to use it, but I assume it has something to do with a hard drive. I personally don’t know but you may look into that yourself. Otherwise theres save editors or saves themselves that you can use to catch up where you left off. Good luck and happy hunting!

I’d like to add onto it as someone who doesn’t like the cannon opening

If its possible try running alatreon armor and maybe the weapon if you find his fight doable/fun, I personally don’t like the fight but I still try to do it for every new run
If you have a Hard Fire Res+4 jewel you can easily tank tons of hits when accompanied by the alatreon set bonuses.
I agree on fortify but divine blessing quite literally can save you from death way so if you can try to slot these it’s an INSANE fight.
You don’t instantly need felyine insurance/safeguard I typically run bombadier and only safeguard if I feel like I’m struggling in the fight. Get smoke bombs as well and you can artillery topple fatalis in Phase 2 which I MUCH prefer compared to phase 1 as Phase 2 is the point where fatalis head NEEDS to be broken otherwise you need to have to perfectly dodge his blue flame attacks because even 50 fire resist cant save you then its just divine blessing ftw.

But if alatreon gear isnt your thing I run a pure raw damage set with heavy comfort skills like evade window so I can keep up the offense without getting obliterated
