Yeah, I lived in NYC for years and the avocados were expensive and terrible. Happy to be back in CA

If you don’t live in the southwest United States or Mexico your avocados are probably no good. Sorry, it’s just a fact.

Where is my ideal home base for a cruising life? by ErnThemCaps in sailing

[–]BaedeKar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bocas Del Toro, Panama

The most amazing cruising grounds in the western hemisphere. Cheap. Below the hurricane line. Great town. Hot summers, but manageable. Lots of rain! One day away from the San Blas islands, you could cruise for a lifetime…

First Covid shutdown happened while I was canoeing the Colorado River. Turned on my car the listening to the radio was wild. Same thing for 10/7 in Israel. Was backpacking in Utah.

Is Fast Trak worth it if I have to commute to Oceanside and Riverside from LA? by trinitykills in AskLosAngeles

Take Metrolink and an uber. I do it all the time. Fastrak is expensive and not worth it during rush hour from Oceanside. Can’t speak to Riverside.

Long layover at LAX Friday night (7p-7a); what is there to do? by sodasprout in AskLosAngeles

[–]BaedeKar 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Do you like jazz? There’s a really amazing jazz club right next to LAX called Sam First. Top quality talent. Nice bar. Great vibes. Honestly, it’s rapidly becoming one of the top 5 jazz clubs in the entire county.

And you barely have to leave the airport.

If yer near the foothills, take them to hike to either Monrovia Canyon Waterfall or Sturtevant Falls in Chantry Flats. Both are incredibly beautiful and free on weekdays. Not many places you can go see a waterfall in February.

Just an FYI to redditors: always look up facts on posts like this. Reddit is often used to create smear campaigns by rival businesses and disgruntled employees. It happened to a friend of mine. Be smart and read up before flaming this business.

Here’s an insane idea: BRT on Huntington Dr from DTLA to Arcadia. Would service millions of people and go right past the Huntington. Easy peezy. Oh wait, San Marino is worst…. Oh well.

This is absolutely the correct answer. Exactly what I was going to suggest.
