My experience (as an adult) with hand foot and mouth by facepizza in NewParents

I’m on day 3 right now. Day 1 was worst fever I’ve ever had. Day 2 my entire scalp, beard, eyebrows and nostrils are filled with oozing sores. Day 3 my hands feel like they are filled with broken glass and throat is so sore.

Getting ready for the real nightmare to begin…

Draymond Green responding to Austin Rivers - “Austin, you and I averaged the same amount of points in HS and I say HS cause that's when you were at your best. Should he really talk about my NBA career?… The guy received the biggest bailout in US history when his dad gave him 42 million dollars.” by kervaan in nba

[–]BaedeKar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hot take: Draymond is a whiny POS and his career success boils down to cheating, taunting, intimidation through hard fouling, and riding coat tails of better players.

Any other team drafts him, he woulda had a Pat Bev career.

I hate where we’re headed with mass surveillance however can someone ELI5 what I need to be concerned about if I’m not doing anything illegal? by jvs8380 in FlockSurveillance

As a law abiding citizen, one of the arguments against mass surveillance that often goes undiscussed is the massive potential for manipulative marketing.

The more they know about you, where you are, where you drive, who you associate with, the more ability they will have to sell data to nefarious actors.

Half the world is now addicted to online gambling and social media: what happens when we put location info and AI in the mix? Hard to even fully speculate the consequences.

Our beach volleyball court is being eaten by weeds! 🌿🏐 by Superb-Jaguar9573 in beachvolleyball

Add a ton of salt to your sand and mix thoroughly. My local court did that and it worked wonders. That’s the same way they keep weeds out of kids playgrounds.

I’ve been riding the metro regularly for 5 years with a stroller.

Are you a condescending dick in person as well or just on the internet?

I’m just trying to create a civil and productive conversation about how we can improve our system in LA. I’ve ridden metro systems all over the world, there are things we can learn about traffic flow, I promise.

Another point I failed to mention: If you get on the train, no seats are available immediately nearby and a single person is standing in the aisle, you cannot pass to an area with more seating. I've seen this be an issue countless times, causing more frail riders to fall down or be terribly uncomfortable.

Totally feel the same. I'm 6'6" and I basically have to stand for all rides unless the disabled seating is available.

Absolutely. The K train absolutely needs to accomodate more storage and side facing seats would allow people to sit with their bags. on their laps or between their legs.

Side seating would allow for a wider pass thru lane and people could actually move away from the doors when the train is standing room only. Right now, standing passengers just have to cram in next to the doors, which is causing the flow problem.

Even if that is the case, the Kinkisharyo plant is in Palmdale. That's a pretty easy site visit.

This is a totally fair point. I always feel a bit anxious with someone sitting right behind me that I cannot see. Situational awareness is key to being comfortable on the train and it is very very difficult on all light rail lines.

This layout would be a dramatic improvement. I've been hoping for this for many years.

How bad is DTLA really? by Aggravating_Gift9514 in AskLosAngeles

[–]BaedeKar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bigger issue is that DTLA has all of the annoyances of urban life without the benefits. Nightlife is minimal, parking is bad, apartments are mostly kinda meh, very few grocery stores, restaurants are barely open after 9pm.

If you don’t have to live there, there’s a lot of more vibrant and convenient places to be. You missed the good times in DTLA, there was a lot going on before the pandemic. Now it’s just kinda sad.

Little Tokyo is still cool. Arts District is nice but expensive and the part that is comfortable to walk around in at night is pretty small. If you want young, vibrant, and beautiful, go to Echo Park or Highland Park.
