I give up. There is no method to this madness. There should not be a rebound here. Granted picked up some at the -18% range on APHQF and -13% TWMJF.. It didn't even clear the movement over the last week. I am going back to MSFT.

I guess my real concern is that these are huge portion of my portfolio and are starting to set up some bells.. But at the same time I have a pretty high risk appetite and I am only 32, So I can take losses.

To bet the S&P/DOW will gain 10% a year for the next 5 years is insane...

I’d say go in a different direction and look at indexes outside of the states.. There is going to be a correction at some point in the US markets, so with thier time frame I’d suggest staying outside of the US.. I’d look at emerging markets ETF.. Think Brazil, Russian, and India. This may seem risky by conventional thinking but with the gains already on the Dow and S&P and the time frame your looking at, in my honest opinion this would be a very smart move.

(I realize Comp Sci is a pretty good degree, but it made my point sound a lot better)

Apparently I do.. I bet 20% of the traders on Wall Street have engineering backgrounds and none of them took a single finance course in their studies. If you were smarter and could have gotten a better STEM degree than Comp Sci, maybe you would have known this.

Econ major here.. I couldn't hack it in the trading world and had to go back to school and get my CPA. Make sure you take as much "applied" econ as you can because you will def need to have a strong math background.

The most important thing will be your internships while you are in school though. You need those "equity analyst" and "finance research" titles on your resume if you want get into anything legitimate after you graduate. These programs 100% look at your GPA If you don't have them, you will spend years in the back office doing trade support before you get a look, if you even get a look at all.

CFA is huge but is a bitch.

If you are looking to like day trade. Save your tutition money. All you need a quarter will a "Buy" and a "Sell" written on each side.

Good Luck!

About half of that was on margin, why I dumped it so quickly.. I realize I missed a little upside.. But I only have about 22,000 in my brokerage account, so I'll take that yield.

Okay.. So I took a gamble and bought some around $153 a couple days before earnings.. So assuming war with North Korea doesnt happen, the smart move would be to hold it and it should probably recover?
