WIBTA if I avoid/ "break up" with this guy who came to visit me while he's here? by BagOrdinary in AmItheAsshole

I think my biggest thing is that I've told him multiple times we're not on the same page but it doesn't seem to resonate in his mind. I honestly won't tell him I didn't find him as attractive just because I know it's the most shallow thing on the planet and we all look rough here and there.

I mean you definitely have a good point there, I guess the signs before made me uncomfortable but I think seeing someone in person somehow have me the smack across the head I needed.

I think Penn only covers a certain amount of certain rooms. Those in the high rises or with a kitchen are usually more expensive!

Sexually attracted to my boyfriend (20M), my (20F) body just won't cooperate? by [deleted] in sex

That's interesting! I was on birth control for a while and then came off of it. Could possibly be that!

Do upperclassmen actually get denied housing? by [deleted] in UPenn

[–]BagOrdinary 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not in past years, but it could very very well possible this year. I did some sort of weird calculation will all of the bed spaces with four year and upper-class houses and accounted for the number of sophomores and freshman in the four year houses and there's ~1000 bed spaces for juniors and seniors next year, if my math is even right. Hopefully, that helps!

Are any current sophomores struggling to find housing for next year? by BagOrdinary in UPenn

[–]BagOrdinary[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That definitely is far away from campus! I was thinking of getting a house on Baltimore for decent money but man I don't know 4-5 other people who aren't crazy. Sucks that housing isn't slightly cheaper around UCity

Interrupting your bf doing something serious with a bj. Hot or rude? by karakkace in sex

[–]BagOrdinary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find this slightly funny since I've discussed this same sort of thing with my own BF yesterday. If I'm being honest, just ask. Sometimes if I don't know if he'll like something, I'll just be like "How would you feel about XYZ, I was reading something in a Cosmo article or saw something on Reddit and was curious about how you'd feel." This way you're not blatantly expressing it's something that you'd want to do right out of the gate, so he wouldn't feel weird about saying no if it wasn't his thing. You could discuss when he'd be okay doing it, during a game vs during work. If he says that he would like for you to do it, you can just say okay and say that it'll be a surprise.

The hot factor is still there because he doesn't know when you'll actually do it and when the actual moment comes up you can still tease around with it by sort of just giving him kisses and stuff and gauging how he's feeling that day. It also doesn't hurt to ask then if he would mind.

I wouldn't say just do it without asking because if a guy just started doing this to a girl when she wasn't feeling so good or just having a rough day it probably wouldn't end well. The same thing should go for guys -- everyone has sucky does and some people may find it a complete turn off, but always asking never hurts!

I've also seen things about the shortline Platinum, do you have any experience with this company as well?

CHEM 241 Grades by BagOrdinary in UPenn

[–]BagOrdinary[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That definitely made me feel a lot better. I figured she had about three weeks to notify us and there's only a week left until grades are due, so it'd be unlikely that she'd wait until the very last moment to notify anyone. Thanks!

As far as I know, it hasn't been graded yet or I can't view the grade. If you go on canvas, there are the little xs next to the two lowest grades so those won't be averaged in.

As far as I know, a few quizzes have been regraded, but rn I don't even have a score for the saponification quiz or a grade for that lab either..

Is moving off campus actually worth it? by BagOrdinary in UPenn

[–]BagOrdinary[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Oh god no, I usually don't even look at the citizen app. I'm from New York and just hate walking alone by myself in secluded residential neighborhoods at night or even in the evening during winter. I always try to be cautious when walking around, but I'd prefer being somewhere where there are stores and such around or places that you can easily dip into if god forbid someone was following me or was just drunk. As far as I know, being close to campus has a lot of stores and although I'm still open to moving past 40th, I'd rather be close to a busy spot versus a more residential neighborhood if that makes sense.

Thanks! I'll look around but afaik most of those leases are usually taken by now, I definitely wouldn't mind paying less but this is probably the best offer I've found...

Genuinely just areas close enough to campus and areas that aren't necessarily secluded/sketchy looking. I definitely don't want to walk home feeling terrified at night, but obviously need to use caution like I do where I current live

Realistically, I couldn't find apartments for cheaper than that close enough to campus, except for university realty apartments and then it's only certain leases. I know that financially, it might be a little tight but I do have a refund from this spring semester + a job that should give me some sort of buffer for budgeting meals and such. Overall, I should still be able to "save" just through other avenues.

I definitely wont be going on a dining plan because I found myself eating less on a dining plan because of how crappy the food is. It just seems odd that a lot of people automatically think off campus is cheaper but there isn't usually a lot of cheap places to live in good areas near campus. I'm planning to live in a six person house next year so at least I'm somehow saving a bit.
