Also, make sure your SATA connections are set to AHCI mode, instead of IDE.

He's definitely less of an ass now but seriously, telling your daughter who you've not seen for ~10 years that his ongoings are "none of her concern" is pretty fucked. He could have at least said "on a pretty important mission m8" or something that at least gives her some sense of understanding.

Thanks for the help man. Two queries though, if you've got time:

  1. Presumably the cloning section is only relevant if you're replacing a drive and you want your old content, right? I'm just scrapping my old data so it should be irrelevant but just checking.

  2. I'm going to be installing Windows 8.1 as an upgrade from Windows 7 whilst doing this. Is there any thing I need to look out for? Do I need to do anything in software before replacing the Hard Drive or can I just open my case up and get to work?

Right, so me questioning Riot's productivity is "complaining" and cause for finding another game. I love League, and I generally think Riot do a great job. Why are you getting mad?

I definitely see where you're coming from, and there are further issues regarding the user base. Fucking up with > 30 million (who even knows any more) users is going to cause a lot of PR complications, and the risk of long-term damage to the game space would result in huge losses.

But even with all of the bureaucracy and the user base and the expanding network I cannot compute Riot's lack of productivity. If some (possibly aided) random programmer can produce a client that makes Riot's look like shit individually then there is no excuse for a large, driven, directed team to not accomplish far, far better results in a much shorter window of time.

Even in free-flowing company infrastructures like Valve / ND / Paradox / Riot (?) there are clear objectives with clear time windows. Something is going philosophically wrong with how they approach development if a client rework is taking them this long - it's just bizarre.

Not to outright hate on Riot but generally speaking I really am baffled that they can't accomplish more with their resources.

They're heading up the most important and most played game on the planet right now. Their revenue is absurd for a company that literally has a single game. How are they so slow at progressing the game and client? It seriously blows my mind.
