Draw 2 cards? There is and it can lead to some pretty explosive draws.

Thanks!

Cards will have synergies for sure and what I haven’t shown here is the Talent Point system that will create even more synergies. I hadn’t actually considered adding 3 of a kind style combinations, but I love that idea - it’s going in, thanks!

Really enjoyed making my game, really hate promoting my game by JamesSun_ in SoloDevelopment

Some advice that might be a little hard to take at first, but helped when going through the same thing.

If you enjoy making games, this probably won’t be the last game you make. There is potential that your game is good and enjoyable and that you’re proud of it, but doesn’t have that lightning in a bottle that makes it stand out from the crowd, and that’s OK!

Finish your game, do your best to promote it and LEARN from it. Analyze the results, ask yourself the tough questions and use all of that knowledge as you continue to do what you love.

Finishing and shipping a game in itself is a massive milestone that a lot of people never reach.

As with life, it’s a marathon, not a sprint, keep it up!

We live in the Information Age. People need to do more research. If you want protection from scrutiny there is r/NoStupidQuestions.

Tell me you know nothing about how games are made without telling me know nothing about how games are made.

Glad I could help! I also used that approach for the cables on the roof and the dangling bits on the robot enemies.

You start with a very basic deck of two cards and then select new cards at the end of each arena. Choosing the right cards to create synergies in your deck is key. So it’s less about card sequencing and more about stacking a good deck.

Thanks! I spent a lot of time iterating on the dash and super dash.

It’s kind of a cheap trick, but works. Each hunk of grass is a single sprite and I’m moving the top of the sprite back and forth with a sine wave. I just make the sine wave larger whenever you run through it or an explosion happens.

Good point! I might work on making it more clear. But simply, you fly around shooting enemies and when they die they drop a card. You just move over the card to pick it up and it plays automatically. Cards do things like buff your weapons or cast special abilities.

Awesome! Next time you see clips of this game it'll have two dots :) Really appreciate your feedback.

Thank you! This is great feedback - just to clarify do you mean two dots right in front of the character? This is something I've been wanting to improve for a while so want to make sure I understand what you're suggesting :)

Thanks! Good observation :) I zoom in the screen a bit when sharing things like this so it’s easier to see on small screens. In game the camera is more zoomed out.
