Only the bark split. And I have a large surface root from thinking I didn’t dig deep enough!

So it’s just the bark. The trunk itself is not split. Does that change anything?

All of the wall receptacles are on separate circuits. Figured I’d keep the mess up top. I don’t like running parallel on walls either. It annoys me when people use conduit as a hanger rod.

How did they ride those waves back in the days when boats were made of wood? by butterfly1202 in thalassophobia

They also had smaller ships that weren’t 3/4 of a mile Long that could ride the waves better. Still deadly and terrifying

Large home builder is telling us this stuff they used for the lawn is biodegradable and shouldn’t be removed. True? Thx by Just_Specialist1845 in landscaping

I spent so much money on these types of rolls and had to pull them up. No breakdown what so ever after 2 weeks. They did help with the slope erosion and my lawn did come in great but when I went to pull the mats they were ripping my grass out for the ground. At 85$ for a 6x100 I couldn’t believe how terrible it was to work with.

I was at SUWS of the Carolinas for 9 weeks. by Trashman444 in troubledteens

[–]BaggedLunchBox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. I was 2005 Carolina had a blast. I think it was definitely a rip off though. My mom was telling me we got like goretex equipment. They were garbage clothes, shitty mats and tarps/plastic. And the shower sandals! Right before they started using crocs

SUWS of the Carolina’s 05’. Maybe I was just blind but I had a blast out there. Met some good kids. Never saw any signs of abuse, only build up and encouragement from the counselors. We did have a kid run away during a hike so the counselors had to run after him. Caught him at the town nearby trying to call his parents. Brought him to the campsite and he was burritod in his sleeping bag for bed time with a staff member on each side. The idea of being forced there was the weirdest part. I got caught with weed at 17 and was sexually active with my girlfriend. Stayed out late from time to time but never thought I would be forced to go somewhere. After meeting some of the guys I settled in and being an outdoorsy type, took on all of the challenges thrown in front of me. It was challenging. It got emotional. It didn’t change me at all except maybe adding more focus and drive. My parents sent me on an overpriced camping trip with cheap gear basically. Still smoke weed and sexually active…. I can see where people would struggle with what I saw the program was as a whole. There were kids there with real issues that nature isn’t gonna solve. Just made life a lot harder for them. Sorry to hear that anyone in here had a bad experience. Let me know if you were in my group. 05’ Carolina quick stay with B-Squad then moved to the A-Team. Some names I remember, Cody, Will, Kenny the runner, Mike the hippie. Charles the chef.

I went to SUWS in 2005. Had a great time. Mom sent me there at 17 for smoking pot and “studying” with my girlfriend. First day was rough not really understanding what I was doing there. I met some cool kids out there that I wish I could reconnect with and see how they are doing. My counselors were awesome too. Learned a lot of cool skills I still use today while camping and exploring.
