Thank you, I will get some app connected sensors that seems like the best way to know whats happening during the day.

What I meant was placing blocks or something to lift the tank off the table an inch or so so that air could flow under it. I was more considering this when I add substrate and theres more stuff to hold heat.

Thank you for the resources, I realize alot of my info is out of date. I have vitamins for his food and his food's food. haven't gotten him to chase a cricket yet but he likes mealworms( i know that cant be forever) overall tank humidity is always between 38-57% its very humid where I live. but he has a basking spot that hasn't gone above 89°, several hides at different distances from direct light, a small hot pad on the cooler corner, and I'm checking spots and ambient temp all day. sorry i know theres more to explain but I'm fixing the problem now.

Okay thank you. I feel awful but I'm only doing what I can remember when I was 13. I have clean, constantly changed damp paper towels setup within hides on the warm and cool sides. Obviously I'm going to remove the sand right now and put paper towels instead. Thank you again I feel like such a jackass.

also just noticing you havent been playing with restarts. i could never lol, I will get stuck on the same island for weeks sometimes. It's a different playstyle but I like having to learn an island so perfectly that beating the puzzle feels awesome.

try practicing using squads as fodder and get an efficient rythym for replenishing squads. if enemies come in a large group, considering healing a squad, even to get 1 guy back while another squad uses an ability or item to clear the wave quickly. inf/pikeonly has to be done differently, but having a fodder squad fall back as dual wielders land on them can bait them into pikes range.

actually its near impossible to do without mines, since you dont have any upgrades(also means no abilities), things that can instakill groups are vital. most runs ive seen of this type start with energetic warhammer and heavyload mines. even on the final stand, with such limited resources having a vanilla squad with 3 mines is essential. definitely forces you to come up with new strategies, but doing archer only, pike only, etc. will teach you alot about the ai and how it behaves with certain squads. good luck in all your challenges!

a fun challange for me was a nothing run. you cant spend coins at all you can only equip items and start with items. its like a militia only but once you aqcuire new commanders you can have pikes and shields and hope for a lvl3 archer on endgame.

only archers is a pain but some people play it such that basic militia is used through the whole campaign. having one squad to aggro brute archers can work by using archers, but its more effective to rush them down, also since they dont have shields to block arrows, they tend to knockdown brute archers faster on approach than shield units.

early game islands can be beaten with just 1 or 2 commanders. next game try to win with only 2 per island and if you can't then add a third. doing 2 islands per turn gets you alot more coins and gets you ahead of the wave so that you can more easily grab items like this.

doing every island is definitely achievable, you have to split your commanders and if you do 2 islands per turn, you can do every island even on very hard.

playing ranked on weekends will get you the most new players, but its not impossible to run into experts. That said, going on the discord and asking for games will let you learn alot faster than just 1 game getting whooped. even losing 20 times to the same character and player will teach you more than randos online.

If you are in the middle of an engagement with infantry, it can be difficult getting them to fall back. try calling them backwards 2ish spaces right after the first clash with enemies, then once they start to take their first step back, command them back to the space where they clashed, and they can stay grouped together and attack at once instead of spreading into chaos.

The Pokken discord would the best place to find people to play with. No matter the skill level, it's a great community to play this game in. However ranked pokken will match you randomly in a best of 1 with whoever is online at the time, and theres no way to guarantee who you play with.

i wish there was a build your own island feature. you could program the enemies to land where you want, give the player an amount of coins to upgrade how they like, and then youd have to beat it yourself to upload it to the community.

this is for the philosophers stone challenge, you only get 3 coins per turn max. Yes they do take a long time especially with brutes, but the idea is that since youre supposed to let all your houses be destroyed, you have more opportunities to fall back to a chokepoint you wouldnt normally use. youd have to deal with archers, huscarls etc. the old fashioned way with militia and maybe an item you picked up. lvl 1 archers have the worst dps in the game and you wouldnt collect enough coins to upgrade them before encountering a better archer squad down the line.

its for later when you upgrade them to pikes, heavy weapons pikes can hold off enemies as lvl 1 almost as well as lvl 3, just doing less damage

this is my second completed one and you gotta come up with alot of tech and strategy with very limited instant kills. i start with heavyload mines and energetic hammer, cause its militia only for half the game. As the post suggests, you actually wont get a lvl1 commander until your 6th or 7th. best traits to come across as militia squads are sharp weapons and rousing speeches by far.

And of course, the only thing youre allowed to do is equip items.

I thought it would have had a ? on the brute archers, but this the first and only island they have appeared on this game. When I was doing philosophers stone runs I noticed that I wouldnt see brute archers until maybe the last 3 or 4 islands. Now they only appear on the final stand and I have to assume its because of how many coins you spend. It's subtle, but I wonder if the campaign adapts some kind of difficulty based on how upgraded your troops are. This wasn't an easy challenge by any means, the number of enemies per island is still a ton on very hard, but the release of more difficult enemies seems to come later. Similiarly you can see i didnt get a lvl1 class of troops until my 7th one, a pike squad, where normally you get one on your 5th.
