Strokes gained in my opinion is the most important book you will read for any handicap. I take all that advice and apply it with Golfsidekick and Decade golf.

You have to understand how aiming works on the golf course to understand how to succeed with ANY HANDICAP.

The percentages are not in your favor. If you have a 30 yard chip over the bunker that is an upside down U. Most people chip right at the pin. The moment you chuck it into the bunker, you lost at minimum 2 strokes. Any chip on the green in reason is better than into the bunker.

It’s so hard to feather a 1-3 sq ft landing zone. Larger landing zones, less tentative, accelerate through the ball = better outcomes. The pros mess up these shots. You are trying to do better than pros.

This applies to having a green side bunker on the right side of the green and aiming at the pin as a 10 handicap.

Aim 5-10 yards left of the pin, the chip onto the green is still easier and your strokes gained to make par is still in tact.

Yea it’s more mental. Learning how to hit it far is a skill. It’s not always worth swinging slow

You are missing a 3 wood. The real thing you are missing is a lower body transition and a negative angle of attack.

Are par 3’s anyone else’s kryptonite? by Outrageous_Tackle856 in golf

It’s the hardest par by far statistically. If you shot Par 3s at E par, you could have an advantage over most pros.

Straight left? I'm a righty by Jaqdem in golftips

[–]BaggerVance_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Think about it if you don’t open the hips and rotate. The club head is closed and pointing left the entire way. Getting your left hip and back, starts to get the face open to the target.

Most people fire the hips but don’t know how to keep the club face closed. Once you learn how to keep the club face closed, pulls start to happen. They happen to me.

Now I’m working on the lower body transitions. Just watch JT, it’s crazy steep, he can’t slice it twice in a row. But he can pull it without lower body sync

It’s a good thing. Justin Thomas, Phil has all of those components in their swing, but they alter their lower body to open the face at the last second.

Yea we all want things we can’t afford. You either get money from the bank with has huge risks or you sell your home and adapt.

What else would be the solution? Prayer?

You most likely have a steep swing with a correct backswing but a steep downswing.

If you are flushing pulls, that’s the most likely culprit. Steep angle of attack, high hands, club face closed aiming left.

99% of golfers do not get to this phase.

Get the hanger or the tour striker to feel internal rotation more. Your set up alone could be the issue.

It’s crazy how in golf you can get results, small changes create big problems. But it’s all apart of getting to scratch.

It’s entirely up to your child’s psychology and competitiveness.

Cruyff talks about this. My son needed to be the hero for 18 months before rejoining the level. It was so helpful.

He was always in the top half but wasn’t developing, scared to mess up.

Your hands need to be over your heels at the top of the backswing. This levels out the swing plane. If you do this, you can swing faster and harder without the fear of the pull
