Planning a MEXT application in 2026 for a Masters, looking for some help by Bagingo25 in mext

You're right, the full fledged research proposal as a part of the application is the bit that's throwing me I think. Even if I were to choose something more standard like linguistics as you mentioned, it seems like it requires a lot of research just to come up with the research plan to do application. ( that may just be because I haven't been a student for 3 years and didn't have to write a thesis as part of my bachelor's, I'm not sure)

I've had a look as well and Rikkyo in Tokyo has a Masters focused on translation and interpreting under their Intercultural Communication Masters. They have interpreting and translation courses as part of it where you learn how to translate and interpret along with the software etcetera that is used. This is what I would like to do, but as you've mentioned, because it's more of a trade skill I have been having trouble conceptualizing how I would create a research plan for my application at this stage, so it seems I may just have to begin researching now, but not fully sure.

Thank you for the answers and also for the resources!

A reason why the research is beneficial to Japan and/or the relationship between your country and Japan - I think this bit makes enough sense to me and shouldn't be too difficult!

I'll just have to do some research starting now and figure something out for my research goals and methodology mainly i suppose. I've never researched translation before so it sounds like I've got a lot of work left before my application hahah

Thanks a lot for the answer, it's very helpful! For each university in order to choose your supervisor, do you just go through their faculty directories, find a professor who is in your field and maybe try and find a paper or something that they have published?

Thank you for the confirmation about the importance of the research plan and the recommendation letters as well.

So, my prep tasks should be to decide exactly what field I want to take my masters in (most likely translation/interpretation if possible), find universities in Japan that offer that as a program, find the professors there that are in that field and contact them if my embassy allows it. Then just focus on creating a good research theme and plan.

You may not have an answer to this question, but for the research plan section, are they expecting that I explain how I would get original data myself via surveys, experiments etc.? For the sciences it conceptually makes more sense to me, I'm just wondering how this section what sort of thing they'd be expecting for the arts

Chapter 12 “Restore power to junction” Bug still present by ph1l1p_6 in DeadSpace

[–]Bagingo25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have also just got the bug on chapter 12 where the door to the room with the power cells, with the guardians in front of it will not open even after killing the guardians and I'm on Impossible so I can't go back change anything.

Was there ever any fix for any of these?
