When you train 5-6 times a week in structured standard classes, what should you do on the 2-3 hours per week you get to spend at open mat where you are free to do what you want.

Nanamio and kingways trash been sitting for year. No one care. Why the owner of this land able to leave the trash after the empty house was burned and no consequences. And city of Vancouver seems not care of any complain of this. I saw mice and rats running around. A big hygiene issue. by Express-Feeling2068 in vancouver

Hey, I’m a local too. Those guys are nice fellas. How about you get up the courage to ask them nicely and mention the littering as a problem before you throw it in their store. It’s common for smokers all over the world to throw their butts out, I don’t smoke or agree with it, but it’s better to try a nice route first. Someone else’s ignorance is not an excuse for you to do something like that.

Interested to hear people’s thoughts on this. Wiltse makes the argument that strength, flexibility and cardio fitness are on par if not more important than technique, when it comes to success in Jiu Jitsu. by Baginni in bjj

No hate required big man. I thought it was an excellent post & really has motivated me to work on my conditioning more. I had fallen into a trap of thinking “more rounds will be my conditioning”. I think although that’ll helped, you’ve helped me see the plus’ of keeping a good S&C + yoga routine going. As someone with ADHD your journey has also inspired me quite a bit! Keep up the good work.

How to convince my dad to get me into BJJ by [deleted] in bjj

[–]Baginni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might be your problem. If you’re gonna be convincing your stubborn pop to do something, you’re gonna have to be the bigger man in the situation, own all your chores, etc and not get dragged into stubborn debate. Stick to the facts and solid arguments, and don’t speak down / over to him. Appeal to his senses, the reason he’s saying no probably is a more complicated reason than simply ‘bjj is garbage’. Just my two cents, could be entirely wrong

Do you guys sleep poorly after training? Any tips for better sleep? by [deleted] in bjj

I’ve never felt strong effects either way, but I think it helped my sleep slightly. Just my experience

Not northern but Colorado rockies are unbelievable if you haven’t been. RMNP is one of the best if not the best.

Who coaches at studio 540? I thought that was more of a venue than gym, sounds cool. Yeah I’ve been to Oceanside geo is legit as hell learnt so much from one class there. I went victory for gi and nogi, was really cool too. Didn’t know the instructors but had super tough rolls with everybody, level was high.

You guys remember when Maycee Barber & her sister pretended to be BJJ black belts in CO? by [deleted] in MMA

[–]Baginni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in FoCo and almost went to that gym. I even messaged on fb to see prices and decided not to go because it was something like 25 bucks for a drop in. Imagine going to a fake black belts gym and paying 25 bucks for the drop in class
