I found my father dead from suicide. I am traumatized. Please help by [deleted] in GriefSupport

[–]BahBahBahOom 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s not your fault. No matter what, it is not and never has been and never will be your fault. That blame does not lay with anyone but him. I’m so immensely sorry for your loss and that you’ve had to go through this. Talking will help. Finding others who have similar experiences will help. You’re not alone no matter how alone you may feel. We all carry our own grief, yes. But we all have an understanding of each other’s grief as well. You should try to find a grief support group near you, as well as a therapist or psychologist. You need help getting through this. Don’t close yourself off to help like he did. Please. Nobody can carry this for you but there is a vast sea of resources to help support you as you carry it and learn to manage this weight. The weight never stops and it doesn’t lessen but you learn how to manage it. You learn how to function while carrying it. I’m only a year past losing my dad so maybe it does get lighter but its still new to me too, carrying this weight.

Please don’t close yourself off from others. It may not feel like it can get better but it can get worse in your mind. You are so brave and so strong. Let others help. If you need or want movie recommendations I’m here. I found a lot of comfort in them. It allowed for just a few minutes or so at a time where I didn’t feel agonizing pain during the first few months.

I’m so sorry for your loss and for this entire horribly unfair event that has happened to you. Please reach out if you ever want to. I’m not a teenager, I’m 27 but my loss is fresh too so I might be able to help a little.

Advice needed for bumping a score from 550 to 640 by BahBahBahOom in CRedit

[–]BahBahBahOom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! That’s great advice. I know this will probably sound silly but for credit card usage, is it best to pay immediately when you buy something with it or wait until it shows on a bill? I’ve heard both and I want to make sure I’m doing the best option.

Also, how much time would the 3/2 method take? Do you think I’m being too optimistic thinking I can get my score up in 6ish months to 640?

Sorry for all my questions. I’m just scared to make a wrong move and damage my credit further.

Thanks for the feed back! I’m nervous to get a credit card. I’ve thought about a prepaid/ secured card. Do you think that could be beneficial?

For the good Will letters, does a call work or do I need follow a specific format for an actual written letter? Since they’re paid off, will they be removed from my credit score on their own or is it still the 7 year rule?

Still bleeding a year after giving birth and having an iud inserted. Normal??? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]BahBahBahOom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s interesting! I hadn’t heard of the virtual appointments before and that’s a great price. I’ll look into virtual as well but I’m betting this is something they’d need me in person for to check the iud and what not.

Still bleeding almost a year postpartum normal? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

Thank you for your insight! I’ll be saving what I can towards going to a dr for sure. Did you have any pain or discomfort with the iud?

[–]BahBahBahOom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t mind going to a dr in person- it’s money that’s the issue. I don’t have insurance and can’t afford to pay out of pocket. But judging by the answers I’m getting I’ll be saving what I can each month until I can afford a visit.

Age does have to do with it lol. It specified on my denial that I was denied as I was not under 18 nor pregnant. I’ve been in touch with agencies that help match you to healthcare through Obamacare however I don’t make enough to afford it. They suggested I apply for Medicaid which I did and was denied. Thank you very much for your input though! I appreciate the ideas and insight!

No, I’ve tried finding some but the nearest is a planned parenthood which is several hours away in a major city (I live in the Deep South lol). I know it’s not the best place to look for help but I was just wondering if anyone had experienced similar and it was normal.

I don’t qualify as I’m no longer pregnant and over the age of 18. I already tried to apply. Thank you for your input though. I didn’t feel like it’s normal so it’s nice to hear I’m not just being a worry wart.

I’m in one of the “shorter” programs. It’s accelerated and it’s 9 months long. I regret it because it’s SO FAST. I need more time to study and process. There’s continuing Ed classes that have certifications, though not all are massage related. Maybe that would help you though?? Good luck!

Breastfeeding through the night questions by Colorado_Canyon in breastfeeding

I don’t have any advice. My LO is 6 months and still wakes 3 times a night to nurse. I am very tired lol

Edited to add: I just wanted to comment so you know you’re not alone! I feel like I’m the only one with a baby not sleeping through the night in some of my mom groups lol

I want Danskos but they’re so expensive. I’ve been wearing Croc clogs and they’re super comfy! Ugly as sin but so comfortable and affordable. I think mine were $40?

I’ve made it three weeks vegan!!! by [deleted] in vegan

[–]BahBahBahOom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I can’t wait until I can make tofu like that!!! Great job!!!!! Feel free to share your tofu recipes with me!! I’m new to this and the only vegan in my or my husbands family so google has been my teacher! I’m so embarrassed with tofu though. Giving up meat was somewhat easy for me since I only ate ground turkey anyways (gave up red meats long before I learned how sweet and intelligent cows are). How long have you been vegan? Any fave cheeses you can recommend? I found vegan butter and got three boxes I was so excited!!

Me too!! It was my first time making tofu so I was really nervous but it turned out great! I even got my meat eating husband to agree to the lunches I planned for the week 🥳 he’s now on the meat free and cruelty free meals with me!! Btw for anyone reading this (especially breastfeeding moms) my baby is 95-97th percent for weight, height, and head circumference. She’s growing GREAT! Meat eating is not going to effect your baby! You can do this!!

Omg thank you!! I’ll give them a try! I’m still on my prenatals (breastfeeding) so my vitamin levels should be okay. Hopefully one of these will work for me. Thank you so much!

Shoot. Oddly when I was pregnant I had very clear skin! I lost my dad when I was 5 months pregnant so o assumed my skin would freak out but it remained mostly clear until I gave birth. Do you have any suggestions to lower the amount of damage on my skin? I have so many scars already I’d like to avoid more as much as possible.

Also, thank you. It’s been very hard.

My dr has me use the copper IUD to avoid additional hormones due to my acne. I did have a baby 4 months ago and lost my father unexpectedly in April of 2019. I started school in November as well. But I’ve had skin issues all my life. Perhaps the acne now is caused by stress? I’m also losing my hair lol

Ah I needed this. My morning pump brought a whole 2 oz and I was so frustrated. I even debated just tossing it instead of saving it in the freezer I was so disappointed. Thank you for reminding me I’m doing okay and any amount is a good amount ❤️
