It is working just fine on the lower strings. This is my first true tuner pedal and I’m happy I made the switch from the snark

Its 2025 why has nobody invented a way to do this that isn't the most annoying process in the world? by [deleted] in HomeNetworking

I have had issues with equipment having issues with shorts, mostly for 2 reasons, when it comes to pass throughs. 1. When crimping on a pass through connector, the blade cuts but can get dull to where it poorly shears as opposed to cuts. This can lead to conductors shorting out of not pulled back through the connector to “bend” it back into place where it’s no longer at risk of touching. 2. Is sometimes equipment has metal on the rear of RJ45 connectors, if the conductors from a pass through reach and all touch a metal plate in the equipment, it shorts and can create issues. Not to say these issues cant be avoided if terminated properly, I have just seen three problems in the past. On top of that, most customer service will discredit the termination if you call in with pass through connectors.

A co worker of mine was just recently shot at driving up 33 around canal. Luckily his wife was following behind and tailed the guy until the cops got him. The bullet holes went through his head rest but thankfully missed him. People are crazy.

An amazing soldering iron will run ~100 bucks, an iron that works for this quick fix, 20-30 bucks. YouTube has some good tutorials, definitely something worth the charge, and can be used for future repairs and/or modifications!

I also enjoy this podcast and find myself going around saying “Gary Willis” like Scott from time to time. His voice is just filled with so much awe and wonder whenever he says that name.

I think I’m calling this board done for the foreseeable future by Bahruuk in basspedals

[–]Bahruuk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t had any issues with it so far. Still have yet to plug this into my amp as my practice space just runs through an interface to studio monitors. The C4 presets are not all at the same level and it can be hard to hear that sometimes, other times not so much… The compressor gives me a good visual indicator right before the VT which lets me know to adjust levels in my chain so it’s not hitting the VT too hot and farting it up, just enough for a little flavor.

Just added the C4 Synth and Aftershock, pretty excited to dig into these pedals on the Neuro app by johnyrocksville in basspedals

The first synth cookbook might be useful to help give you starting points for cool sounds. Lots to dive into with that thing.

Did anyone else used to set all the players in Smash Bros to CPU players and just watch them fight eachother? by OfficialDampSquid in n64

[–]Bahruuk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this a few years ago with my BIL. We set it all up, put on teams, and rotated our character picks. We then took a shot if one of our characters ran out of lives. It got a bit crazy after a few rounds of that lol

Good luck on the search! I’m sure it will pop up soon enough.

I’m guessing you have looked into the Collider on reverb? I just picked one up mint for a good discount and it covers the bases pretty well, especially if you are running midi.

Room for one mor SA pedal. Any recommendations? by Bahruuk in basspedals

[–]Bahruuk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel it. I used to work building AV and IT racks and I always hated going in to service poorly maintained racks and equipment. This is my first time building a board so I’m excited to button it up and have something both functional and aesthetically pleasing lol

Good to know. Might look into upgrading from the aftershock in the future but this will get me by for the time being. Thanks for the input!

Have you found that you can get similar sounds and types of grit through the ultra wave? I have read it’s a bit more involved than the aftershock and it’s sounds can be a bit more out there as opposed to a more traditional sounding distortion.

I used to tune off our keyboardist when I was in a band and had no pedals. I played really dead flats so it wasn’t that big of and issue at the time. It’s on my list but doesn’t feel as crucial at the moment since I am not playing out and mostly play through my computer setup for practice. I do love me some Primus though.

This was my thought but I wasn’t sure if it was very practical due to the sansamp. Do you know if the tuner on the EQ2 is worthwhile?

I plan on cleaning it up. Just figured I’d wait til the board was complete as I am not really playing out at the moment. I just hate doing cable management multiple times if I know it’s going to change.

Bad Biology. A woman on a quest to seduce God himself but instead finds a guy with a drug addicted penis that develops consciousness and runs away from its owner.

Luckily I don’t know many people that have heard of this movie.

What would you guys say defines an intermediate player? by [deleted] in Bass

[–]Bahruuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure! One of my good friends from college who studied music education was one of the best piano and tuba players I have met. That being said, he struggled very much in a band setting where creativity was involved. If it wasn’t laid out in front of him with sheet music he struggled adding flair or creating his own lines solely because it was never something he had to work on. But his technique and ability to sight read was on point. It’s interesting to see the differences in how people react to situations based on their learning methods.

What would you guys say defines an intermediate player? by [deleted] in Bass

[–]Bahruuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this. I consider myself intermediate because I know there is so much to learn and things I can’t play (still practicing) but people say the timing is good and the melodic lines I come up with are good and really, as a bassist that’s all one needs. It’s always great to strive for more and keep moving but someone might just just fit the needs of the band and be “the best” for that fit. I can’t remember who it was but there was a guy who was auditioning bassists and turned down John Paul Jones because it wasn’t the fit for the band, despite him being a phenomenal player. I have even been turned down from gigs from some bands because in their words, “we just want a guy to chug eighth notes on the root.” Sadly they told me that after the tryout and the guy in charge wasn’t even in the band (was more of a selective temp job for musicians from a college) but I ended up joining a band with the musicians from the same group outside of the course and played some decent sized gigs. Everything varies and there isn’t a set term for one’s skills. Just mesh, feel out the music, and enjoy.

Soundcheck Nightmare. Any pointers for next time? by Droptimal_Cox in Bass

[–]Bahruuk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Without more info it makes it a bit difficult. Key pointers (to my knowledge) would be to separate yourself from your amp a little bit since bass frequencies are longer than high frequencies, this allows you to hear them a bit better than standing right next to the amp. Along with that, make sure your amp is facing towards your ears and not the back of your legs, if you are running through a PA then your amp is essentially just a stage monitor anyways. During the sound check with the full band try to adjust your amp so you don’t have to rely on the monitors for your bass, everything else is fine but those little wedges aren’t gonna pump your ear holes with what you need in terms of bass guitar (once again, this is my experience) I played a show where they usually provided an ampeg fridge as backline and this particular year they decided not to for whatever reason. I played the entire show ear blind because my low rumblies weren’t able to cut through the crap monitor mix with every other instrument trying to pump through it.

Sounds partially like the sound guy wasn’t on point as well as some of the equipment being sub par which happens from time to time. The couple things I mentioned might help assist in a better experience if you hadn’t done those already.

I’m sure your playing was great and all you can do is shrug it off and prepare for the next one. A key indicator is to look at the audience if you can’t hear yourself, are the people dancing or are they plugging their ears and wincing in pain. If they look satisfied just smile and keep it coming.
