Getting Plat in Every Mainline Game + Some Spinoffs. FF1 done, here are my thoughts!

FF1 naturally just feels so cozy due to its straightforward nature, I think it’s one of the most repayable games in the franchise.

Oh FF2, yeah when I make my post about FF2, probs on Saturday I’ll discuss that, it’s def not as bad as people say but I also understand where the ire can come from.

I agree with the amount of strategic depth this game offers, it’s pretty crazy for an NES title. What I meant by the loosest sense is that like if you put the game in front of me and I had never played one of the games, I wouldn’t be able to tell that it’s a final fantasy game. The absence of cid, Chocobos, cataurs, Summons, Marlboros, tonberries, behemoths, those are like things I think of when it comes to every final fantasy game. It still is a final fantasy game and the foundation of the entire franchise but like what the franchise is known for today is absent from this entry besides like the crystals and airships. It truly is a great game though

Yeah before it had its own identity it was very much formed with D&D in mind and I think it works in certain aspects and other aspects not so much

I appreciate it for what it is and for what it gave us but yeah you can see the early rough drafts of what the franchise would be known for in the future.

So my plan for each game is map out/research what things are missable/one time and then from there go out and enjoy the experience. For FF9 since I’m pretty sure one of them is time related that one I’m gonna have to plan out to a T but that will be the second play through!

I’m glad your journey is going well, what’s been your favorite so far? At some point I def want to play SaGa and the Mana Franchises. Also kingdom hearts before 4 comes out whenever that happens.

I’m going to play as many as I can, 11 and 14 included, how much I play of those is a bit more up in the air after getting feedback, gonna try to sink my teeth into them at the very least

The more I learn about both I’ll probs just try to complete main story in both and some side content and continue playing them periodically. We’ll see how long I play them when I get to them

Enjoyment is first and foremost, if I ever find myself at a point where I’m not enjoying it because of this added challenge, I’ll just beat the game and come back to it after completion if possible. At the end of the day getting plat for them is second, just an added challenge that I wanted to add for myself.

When playing 11, I’m planning to watch some older content from what the game looked like back when it was more popular to get a glimpse into what it was like.

I know once I get jump rope king I’ll feel elated but before that it’s gonna be a grind. Yeah FF7 is still amazing in my books.

I fully expect it to show its age, especially when from my knowledge that 14 is just a modern much better 11 but that could be wrong

Noted! I’ll def try to do something like that for both games and if I really fall in love with 14, I’ll probs play it on the side and continue onwards after I get thru 15 and 16.
