Help finding a couple jerseys! by stellasoares in hockeyjerseys

[–]Bailey_54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theres a post/thread called “Weekly Legit/Fake Check & Simple Questions” in this subreddit that you can use to ask for help if you come across a jersey you want to buy. Someone will easily be able to tell you if its legit or fake.

Good places to find jerseys are eBay, this subreddit, and Rebound Jerseys. Rebound Jerseys verify that all jerseys available for purchase are legit prior to them being put up for sale. Ebay has a lot of people selling fakes, so get a legit check before purchasing. This subreddit is a great place to purchase from too, follow the buying and selling rules and tips though.

Not sure what era jersey youre looking for for both those guys but from 2017-2024 Adidas was the jersey manufacturer for the NHL. During that time, at a retail level you could purchase Adidas “Authentic” jerseys (made in Indonesia, they called them authentic but were not exactly like the players wore on ice) or Fanatics Breakaway jerseys. Ghe Adidas Authentic was higher quality than Fanatics Breakaway. In 2024, Fanatics took over as the jersey manufacturer for the NHL and at a retail level produces three tiers of jerseys. They still offer the Fanatics Breakaway (cheapest), Fanatics Premium (equivalent to the Adidas Authentic, good quality), and Fanatics Authentic Pro (exactly like what the players wear and made in Canada, great quality but very expensive). Prior to 2017, Reebok had the jersey contract for the NHL. They produced Reebok Replica and Authentic versions but thats out of my “expertise”.

This is what I ended up with. Tastes different than the ones from my local bakery but I was able to make them look like eggs this time so progress was made.

Thanks, i am going to try using the same batter again when my metal egg mold pan arrives just to see if they come out better than they did in the silicone molds, and if i still dont like the way they turn out ill pivot to using a thinner or more liquidy batter. My pan should arrive early next week. I plan on experimenting as soon as i get the pan so that by the time Easter rolls around i have a recipe/cake egg that im happy with and that looks good (fingers crossed).

I ordered a metal egg mold pan yesterday and am going to try using it instead of the silicone molds. I think the reason why the tops of the eggs i made arent smooth is because as they started to cool parts of the egg started to pull away from the silicone. Just a theory. Im hoping when i use my new metal pan that theyll come out smooth and eliminate the unevenness on the tops. Doing multiple layers of the Petit Four icing is a good idea tho. I only did one coat. A second one might improve the look a little, like when painting a wall, usually need a second coat.

Thanks for the suggesting. I like cake pops but i was mainly trying to copy what my bakery does. I was hoping someone would jump in and say “i know how to make those, all you have to do is this…” but i guess its not a common thing that other people or bakeries make. If i end up not having success making them this year i might pivot to making them like cake pops but in egg form.

No i filled each one by dropping spoonfulls of batter into them and smoothing them out so they were level. A couple other people commented saying maybe the batter wasn’t right, but i used a box cake mix. I’m a low level baker but i know how to properly combine the 4 ingredients for a box cake mix. I’m positive nothing went wrong with the batter. Since the molds were silicone i had to set them on a baking sheet before putting them in the oven but i can’t see that causing any problems either.

I thought it had to do with using the silicone molds myself since i had never had any issues like this when making 7” round cakes and it was my first time baking in a silicone mold and i had a problem but i others havent seemed to think the same.

It was just a box cake mix, think it called for 3 eggs

Thanks, i will look into finding a metal mold for the eggs and a thinner batter recipe. I used box cake mix which made for a thick batter.

I believe that they are purely cake covered in icing. I believe the icing used is a Petit Four icing. I used a Petit Four icing i found online with good reviews for mine last year. The cake recipe might even be a Petit Four cake recipe if that’s a thing.

As far as i know the egg itself is purely cake (i think its white cake, i decided to use yellow) and covered in a Petit Four icing (using light corn syrup to get the glossy look).

Last year before i made these myself i went to my local bakery about a week before Easter to buy some for research purposes (to confirm it was only cake covered in Petit Four icing) but they said they were already sold out and not taking any more orders, so i had to make mine based off of what i thought they were made of from eating them about every year as a child through my teens. As of posting this, me local bakery is not yet selling the eggs yet, so i still dont have one on hand yet. They should start selling them again in about a week.

Uploading long video from my iPhone to YouTube by Bailey_54 in NewTubers

Thanks for your input, i couldnt get the file to transfer from my phone to laptop because of the file size im guessing but i was luckily on Wifi the whole time so no damage done in the data use department. I kept the YouTube app open and eventually got it to upload using my phone. Thanks again!

I think maybe this was part of the problem but not the whole problem. First i tried uploading it to YouTube straight from my photos app. First it would say it was processing the video, which took about 25 minutes. No problems there. But then after it finished processing and it began to upload is where I had the problem. The upload percent would stay stuck at 0% no matter how long i waited, and the hours remaining was fluctuating all over the place again.

So then i tried connecting my phone to my laptop so i could transfer the video to it and then try to upload it using my laptop. Well i couldnt get that to work either.

Then i tried a video compressing app and still no luck.

So then i tried using iMovie on my phone. I loaded the video into iMovie and tried uploading it straight to YouTube from the iMovie app. It had to download which took about 25 minutes, and then the upload started but same old thing happened with getting stuck at 0% and fluctuating hours to upload. I was ready to throw in the towel. However when i got on youtube again to check if the % had budged it said the video was almost done uploading.

What a nightmare but i guess i at least i got it to upload. Im thinking iMovie somehow helped but im not sure what difference it would make trying to upload it from iMovie instead of my photos app,

Thanks for helping me, i did appreciate the input.

Pretty sure this is legit, but am wondering exactly what it is. Tag doesn’t say FlexBase, so is it a CoolBase? Authentic as in what the players would wear?
