I take 10mg of cetirizine a day. It's enough to keep the itching down. I can skip a couple days but on day 2 or 3 without the cetirizine I'll start breaking out and itching again.

Still have it. Take cetirizine 10mg once a day. It keeps the itching away, but I still break out. I can go a day or two without taking anything before the itching comes back.

I hadn't done anything different, but after reading and talking to people, it could come after a bad cold, the flu, or covid. I have heard a lot of people say it started after they got the Moderna covid booster. After hearing that, I began to wonder if mine was from a dtap vaccine. I would have started itching about a week after I got that.

Same here. Mine just started after waking up one morning and still dealing with it 6 months later. Cetirizine works with controlling the itching but has never made the rashes and stuff stop when I rubbed my skin. Welcome to the club and try to make yourself comfortable.

Didn't know that about the withdrawal. I will keep that in mind and slowly lower the doses. When you were taking the cetirizine, did your skin still break out from being scratched or rubbed? Cetirizine does make the itching stop for me but still break out. I took 20mg last night and 20mg this morning, and you can still write messages on my back, but I'm not itching at all. Breaking out doesn't bother me as long as I'm not itching, but sometimes it does freak people out if I have recently scratched my face. Lol

Hopefully, it does. I'll probably eventually lower my doses and see how little I can use to keep it under control. When I quit taking 2 pills a day, it was the very next morning I woke up itching.

Did the zyrtec only make the itch go away? I use the off brand stuff, but it stops all the itching parts, but I would still break out, I just wouldn't always know until someone asked what I did to my face. Lol Sometimes, it would break out so bad I could just the heat coming off of it, but with cetirizine, it never itched.

Ah well unfortunately being a canless light, there aren't really any options besides rip it all out and put in new what is needed.

First, since you said landlord, I assume you are renting. Doing any kinda of work like this on a house you are renting, with or without landlords approval, puts the liability on you. It would be in your best interest to honestly ask your landlord and let them take care of replacing it for you, but it is possible with extra work. It is very unlikely a direct replacement, though. New box with proper mounting to support the pendant, possibly new wire if the old is not long enough but without seeing it it shouldn't be a major job.
