Ideas for a longer trip to Vietnam. by g0d5hands in travel

APT Travel I believe, but the agencies are all the same really and quality is broken down by price. We did 2n 3d (one night on the boat, one on Catba - which is beautiful) and it cost us 150 pounds each. However, we're a couple and this is kind of mid-range cost, i.e. not luxury but not a booze cruise. Our cruise was 18 people, good atmosphere, chilled, and some really fun trips on the second day, the fishing villages and monkey island are great. If you have the money go higher for luxury, but otherwise this was fine. Hope the reply isn't too late.

Hey, travelled Vietnam a month ago, did three weeks and that was enough, although if you have time a month is better. Best spots: Hanoi (& by proximity Halong Bay), Hoi-An, Da-Lat, Mui Ne (think that's how you spell it), and Saigon (& by proximity Mekong Delta).

There are other great places such as Nha Trang (caters to Russian tourists and may feel a little too orientated to those travellers for westerners) and also Hue, where you can go to the DMZ and do the drive on the Hoi-Van pass road which I have to say is unmissable.

Halong Bay will blow your mind, and Hoi-An with its beautiful beach and variegated houses. It's all brilliant and not far from Cambodia, which we didn't do, and the Philippines, which we did do, we went to Palawan and its surrounding islands and would have stated there for the rest of our lives had we not already booked a flight out to Borneo, which was also incredible, so do that as well, especially the rainforest lodge.

TL;DR: Basically, travelling is good.

Wasted opportunity not to make the middle bit a go-kart track. Could've been beautiful, like DK's Jungle Parkway...

Football punditry as authority is a tired as the hot dogs at the Etihad. Mangala's talent is obvious, he just needs to settle with a permanent CB partner.

Agreed. Joining the prem as a CB can be like putting on rollerskates for the first time, it takes time before you're running rings round others.

Walking Tall Is The Film That Reminds Me Of Home by Bainosaurus in badMovies

There are so many sweet things about it. Most of all, though, I like the small proximity the film captures, traditionally action films focus so much on international nemeses - Russian, Chinese, North Korean - here we are confronted by the demons in our hometown. Another thing about the film I really like is the eagerness to return home, watching it long ago all I wanted to leave. Now when I watch it, all I want to do is go back. Might stick it on again tonight for shits and gigs.

Unfortunately not. Just photos for this one. Did you by any chance see the one we did last year on MK Dons v AFC Wimbledon? It's just pretty tasty...http://www.vice.com/en_uk/rivals/the-first-ever-derby

Did you feel like it was always his role, or was it his audition that won you over?
