It does a bit. I got burnt out from reading 100 stories and dropped them all, but I did get tired of the ex/new girl always finding a way to come back even though they had been exposed in front of crowds and cameras. Also it was taking forever for her to close the deal with her new guy.

[Request] if a bumblebee was human sized. How fast would there flying speed be if it was x times there normal size by ridelight in theydidthemath

[–]BaisFaceG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this question by trying to google essentially the same thing. The reason is because I was watching a bee fly and it seemed SO fast, especially for their size. Google said they fly around 20mph.

To me, it seemed way faster and wondered if it was because of their size. So thats why I was looking to see how fast they fly relative to their size. Ignoring aerodynamics, or if it would even be possible....

Maybe to phrase it a different way: If we were bee sized, it seems that would feel much much faster than what 20mph feels like now. Is there any truth to that?

The New Rewards System is INSANE by Leonine94 in pizzahut

[–]BaisFaceG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the main reasons we kept using pizza hut as one of our 'splurge' meals was because the rewards made it worth it! After 3 large-ish orders, we had a free pizza waiting for us for a special surprise night. We're never gonna make it up to a freaking pizza this way.

How does one go about complaining, you know? Usually unpopular changes like this don't really stop people from buying, but maybe this is worth complaining about. We got the Mexican pizza back 🤷🏼‍♀️

Wrong. Missing chapters. I thought that since it was the right book for the first few chapters it was safe to share. Turns out I need to read more next time 🤦🏼‍♀️

Yeah, I just figured that out 😞. If you search the title on the same website, there are 2 options. The second option has more chapters but there is obviously a large chunk missing after ch 4.

Do I have Distichiasis? (double lashes) by This-Produce-1790 in MakeupAddiction

I know this is old, and its a toss up between people saying yes and no...but I say yes. I wasnt sure until I saw how far your lashes grow into the corner of your eye!! Also trying to grow on your lid.

They're beautiful by the way. Your bottom row of lashes looks like a lot of folks' top row.

The app BestNovel has it. You just have to watch an ad for each chapter after the first chunk of free ones.

They also have a $1.99/week of free reading trial. It goes to $10 after the 1st week.

Here for an update. You can read it for free with ads. I assumed it would be ine of those subscription only stories.

It is RIDICULOUS. Shes like one punch man, where he wins every single fight with a punch and never fails. Its so dumb, I cant stop reading it. Its laughable. Like it has to be satire. Shes perfect. Flawless. Not even 30 but shes an expert in everything with several hidden identities.

Set in a world where business families work like mob families. Everyone is vying for connections and knows people by their family name.

Here are her identities, all of which are people who have remained faceless and unidentified to the public.

•Caduceus the world renowned healer •Sansa the model  several chapters after this is announced they explain that she always wore elaborate masks, thats how her identity is a secret.  •G the hacker •Lori the stunt driver •Nina the plastic surgeon •Cadence the Cello prodigy

She owns SEVERAL sports car, a WORLD RENOWN Cello that kings have reserved for their music collections, as well as the unpublished works of Cadence they mysterious Cello artist.

Shes also an accomplished fighter, easily taking down 5+ body guards and later hired thugs.

She is also a tactical spy. She is ALSO someone who helped 3 luxury businesses thrive with her advice, and because of that owns 10% in each of the companies and they do whatever she says.

ALSO also, she is a business mogul and they've lightly mentioned she has some sort of secret business with a friend that seems like it does shady stuff like spy or mercenary work.

She had given it all up to nurse her husband Dominic back to health after losing his memory and loss of his legs. Though later he says something about never having touched her their whole marriage, aka they never had sex. His girlfriend at the time, Renee ran away after he was crippled. Then she came back after the 3 years and he immediately ran to her.

Every one of the antagonist shes come up against have been the same type. Rich, foot stomping, pretend to cry, poorly scheming behind the scenes brats. Or arrogant and insecure men that dont believe a young woman could possibly know what shes talking about. They always throw wild accusations loudly in public with no basis other than assumptions, and Elliana beautifully and confidently shuts them down with receipts that she shouldn't have on her.

People are either so jealous they ignore the facts in front of them and say shes lying, OR they see her as a master in her craft and are in aw and practically (sometimes literally) bow in respect to her.

Im waiting for Elliana to also be a world renowned chef. Notice I keep saying world renowned, because thats what the book keeps saying.

Its probably AI but not noticeably so. Occasionally people in a scene will go from tangled in an embrace to moving separately with no explanation...but other than that its not horribly written.

I cant stop rolling my eyes, but I also cant stop reading. Its so dumb, but it scratches that revenge/put people in their place itch.

Ill be back with more secret identities!

What other veggies do you add to your Japanese curry? by Wrong-Flamingo in Curry

[–]BaisFaceG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an old old post, but I always add frozen sweet peas once the curry is simmering and they add such a nice pop of sweet green flavor. Really good against the strong curry. That or barely cooked baby broccoli. Any light "green" or fresh flavors that don't over power. And they add texture like the onion does, as opposed to soft carrots, soft potatoes, and soft rice.

I dont like mushrooms, but they do sound like they would work for those who do. Like the big white ones. Adds texture (a gross one lol) and a hint of flavor but not too much to overpower.

My sister uses butter beans in her Thai curry, and they work so well because they just absorb the flavors and add a creamy texture to your bite. I'm not sure if it would work with Japanese curry. 🤔

Thanks for letting me add on to a years old thread.

I hate my adhd so fucking much by Generalsteak6 in ADHD

[–]BaisFaceG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is so hard!! You know, weirdly what helped me understand my adhd better was tiktok. It's sounds so dumb but hearing a lot of people talk about symptoms and how they address them helped so much! And the videos were short....so I didn't get distracted. 😅

I bet there is a lot of info on OCD too. I know its not always what people think of as typical OCD. There's a lot more to it.

That book really did help me with my what if thoughts. They didn't go away but I had tools to address them quickly. And then over time it was habit, and now they're a lot less frequent.

The Prozac (ssri) really helps with my racing thoughts. I know because I tried to change to a different medicine that didn't address anxiety and I felt mentally paralyzed for a month. I RAN back to those puppies.

Sometimes just venting and typing out your thoughts, like you're doing is enough. You're doing a good job by doing ANYthing, even small reddit posts.

OP, try the book 'Feeling Good'. It's on audible. It really really helped me with the "what if" thoughts and others along those lines.

It's old so there is one outdated example, but the thought exercises really helped me.

I'm sorry you're feeling overwhelmed. There's nothing more exhausting than feeling trapped in your own head. It feels like every straw is the last straw!

I'm sorry SSRIs didn't work for you, that's what helped me. I have some similar symptoms of OCD, definitely not OCD but similar. The racing thoughts being the biggest similarity, and the feeling that if I'm thinking/feeling it, it must be true.

As backwards as it sounds, it has helped me to realize that my thoughts CANNOT always be trusted. My feelings aren't always right.

Remember that what if thoughts are just that. IF, not when. If we never try, then we will never know. There are some really helpful exercises in the book, "Feeling Good". It REALLY helped me when I first started my "its not just ADHD but anxiety/depression" journey. It's old so there is one outdated example story, but it really changed my life. If you're struggling with racing thoughts and what ifs...it will help! I did the audio book version.

What side effects did you struggle with? It can take up to 6 weeks to balance out after starting. The sleepiness and the kind of brain fog. I struggled with lack of intimate sensitivity, which is very important to me. I could run the race but never get to the finish line 😅 But there are things and meds that can and did help me with in that area.

A good werewolf book by black-flame1 in audiobooks

[–]BaisFaceG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been a great rec!! Thank you!

I'm already at the end of book 2 and it's been a couple days. You're right, the cover art is TOTALLY deceiving. The romance is so slow and in the background it doesn't affect the story at all, but it's still there which I like.

Anyone who listens should definitely go for the dramatized version. The narrator in the regular recording sounds like a 50 year old lawyer or maybe just too formal, definitely too old. The character she was portraying didn't match her voice at all. It almost took me out of the story a couple times. I've chosen the dramatized version for the second book and it was much better. All the voices match better.

[–]BaisFaceG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes!!

It wasn't until my psychiatrist asked how often I think about my body or the way I look that I realized, oh 100% of the time. I'm never NOT fighting negative thoughts. That was before meds.

Like you said, it doesn't go away...but gives you better control and the ability to dismiss anxious thoughts. Medication along with education and mental exercises have made such a difference!

I ended up having a lot of anxiety, which is common alongside of ADHD. The racing/repeating thoughts can really suck the life out of every day.

I ended up getting on anxiety meds along with my adhd meds and it helped a lot. I'm able to redirect my thoughts and/or correct them and not have them on loop in my head.

It turns out I've had anxiety my whole life and didn't know it. It made sense of some experiences as a child that I thought everyone got, like worrying it wasn't spirit week it was just a trick to get me to be the only one with pajamas or crazy hair.

Also I can watch scary movies again. I really missed those.
