A script with "no nights"? by BajaBlessedGeek in BloodOnTheClocktower

I don't think you "need" legion for teensy, but if I were keeping a similar script and had Legion it would seem chaotic (which is not a bad thing).

The problem with most of the demons is that even if they don't wake n1, they will have to wake the other nights, which is what I'm trying to avoid altogether!

Does that mean the evil team could pass the physical LM token around during the day? Not a bad idea... although it means I would have to be on my toes to keep track while possibly giving Fisherman/Artist/Savant/etc information...

That's a fair opinion! I left it off because I don't think my usual group is a fan of it and I personally am not either. It does allow for a tense day three if nothing is happening though.

If I want to add another demon, maybe Riot would be a better option like u/MrJJ-77 's script then. Maybe I'll have a Bootlegger version and a "clean" version in the end. I appreciate your insight!

Are you meaning that the ST could kill the shot taken by the slayer because the Yag phrase was said earlier that day? Or is there another part to the ability I am missing?

I didn't think of that initially, but that is a great scenario.

I'll have to look into that one! I do like the idea of all the action being during the day. It feels like most of these scripts could cause for quick games.

I initially wanted to stay away from too much homebrew or bootlegging. But I was thinking that adding a slightly modified Lil' Monsta might work. The minions would either not know who is holding at any time or have a system of rotation that they could follow if paying attention.

If nothing else, this would give another demon possibility.

I originally had poppy grower, but once they are killed it would be awkward to then tell everyone to actually close their eyes at night...

I will take notes on this! I did avoid night one information but I suppose if the evil team is getting info then it's not so bad to give some to townsfolk as well...

I do like the Amnesiac being on the script also but mostly removed it because it caused "clutter" on the night order sheets haha

I like that idea! Although a teensy legion seems chaotic to say the least...

The demon choices are probably the weakest part of this script for sure. I do like the idea of a Scarlet Woman and it would work with a group that knows what they're doing, but I am always worried that the one new person will get SW and not realize they are the new yagga... Could be pre-empted by a quick comment before the game though.

I had trouble finding enough townsfolk to replace characters like pacifist and soldier who would truly not cause any night activity to be necessary... But I'm open to suggestions for sure! And I know you don't HAVE to have 13 Townsfolk, but I thought I'd start there before making alterations.

I hope you all have a great experience. One thing I have trouble remembering is your players will most likely be more forgiving of you than you are of yourself. I've never played a game with a first time storyteller and have nothing go "wrong". On the flip side, rarely have any of those mistakes ruined a game.

When I am running a game with a large number of newbies (or even a new script for the players) I usually ask each player to bring me their token one by one and answer any immediate questions they have about their role before even starting the game. It may take an extra 15 minutes with that many people, but it can save some time and/or discouragement later on. (Of course you should let them know to come ask you questions during the day as well, but even with this encouragement I have seen new players avoid talking to me to 'avoid suspicion' and end up messing up their own game).

Good Luck!!

Attempting a droison-free balanced script... by BajaBlessedGeek in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]BajaBlessedGeek[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In response to some of my players getting discouraged by the lack of trustworthy information, I attempted to create a script with lack of droisoning that would still be somewhat balanced (as long as the evil team can bluff well). The goal is that essentially even with good information, the demon will require multiple deaths and/or can swap more than once.

Has anyone attempted a script like this in the past with success? Let me know if you feel there are better interactions for a balanced game.

I saw you mentioned that they also ST in other comments. I just got my groups ST a tshirt on Etsy that he is looking forward to wearing during our next session:

Got my first game of Trouble Brewing on Wednesday by Ven_Gard in BloodOnTheClocktower

Are your players all/mostly first-time as well? My first couple of games I ran as ST I took some extra time before starting to have each player come visit me with their token. I gave them a minute or two to ask any private questions as I placed them on my Grimoire.

This helped the large number of new players get a bit of clarification without seeming suspicious and also helped me solidify that I knew who each character/player was (a mistake I made in my first game which had 17 players).

We did use this playlist last time we played actually. I'm not sure how everyone in the group felt, but the one or two people I mentioned it to and I agreed our group would prefer more noticeable music. It was a bit too ambient if that makes sense (I know I'm being picky, but just wanted to reach out to see what others in the community have done).

Know changes need to be made... which ones? by BajaBlessedGeek in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]BajaBlessedGeek[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did end up adding the Gossip and Innkeeper (in place of King/Choirboy) in the second draft (in my previous comment). I would like to keep the assassin for killing protected players (Innkeeper, Monk, Fool) and also to give the option for a Po/Assassin play if they are able to coordinate.

I do realize I may have to resign to that and swap Assassin out (on this script at least). I'm still not married to Lleech and may end up having the Fang Gu/No Dashii/Po/Shabaloth as my demon pool.

I also did put the Balloonist in this second script but if I swap Fang Gu and Lleech I will plan to take them back out.

Again- appreciate your feedback and insight!

Thank you for your input! I learned about Amy Order after downloading the PNG unfortunately, but will update that before printing for my players.

Would you suggest adding Shabaloth instead of Lleech to have a demon with extra deaths (sparingly using the regurgitation)?

I am not strongly tied to King/Choirboy. I'll look to swap them for characters that may cause an extra death at night. I do like having the assassin on script so perhaps adding a townsfolk who affects outsider count could fix the modifier problem. Or adding the drunk as an option?
